"Top notch from beginning to end! He came out right away to give the estimate. The estimate was in line with two other estimates I got. He won my business because he had three people, (not just 1 or 2) and promised to be done in 2 days. My basement was painted along with a couple other small paint jobs within the time promise. They cleaned up, rehung the photos, and put the furniture back in even less time than promised. Great job! I highly recommend Chavez."

"Ferney Leal is extraordinarily talented in all things construction and you won't find a contractor more dedicated to perfection and excellence. The large projects he has done in my 1923 home include custom wood bookcases and a bathroom remodel that included adding a shower to a half-bath. Ferney meticulously cut and matched the pattern of a complicated hexagonal tile and it came out perfect! Ferney listens to your desires and works hard to give you exactly what you want. He also thinks of design details that you don't, e.g. alerting me that the new shower was going to be too dark and recommending a waterproof light fixture in the shower stall ceiling. I call Ferney first for the projects that really matter, because I can tell he takes as much pride in my home as I do. "

"Mendoza Home improvement arrived on time and ready to work. Benjamin Mendoza is very professional and polite. He did a great job removing wallpaper and painting my bathroom. Mr. Benjamin went over and beyond and assemble a new wall cabinet and installed in bathroom. I will use this company again. I would highly recommend recommend. "

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Washington DC, DC

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
