"We had high expectations of quality, simply from Dan’s efficient, detailed quote, along with verbal, email and texts communications, and followup brochures. Matt and Bill kept in constant contact for scheduling and measuring. We had to postpone due to rains and high winds a couple of times, but the crew actually rescheduled for Memorial Day as the weather broke. Rick’s four-man crew arrived at 9:00 sharp, introduced everyone, and immediately remeasured every window, checking against the new ones in the truck, and then staged them all inside. Six hours later they had torn out, replaced, loaded our old sashes and frames into their box truck, and completely caulked 15 of the 26 windows. Arriving early the next morning, they immediately had three windows out in our front room, and seven hours later were completely cleaned up, with every piece of exterior trim custom cut, installed and perfectly caulked. Clean up inside and out was immaculate. They were as efficient, polite, well mannered, conversational and conscientious crew that we’ve had in our house. Dan and his Zen Windows TEAM is FIVE STAR. I will highly recommend Zen and our Soft-Lite Nirvana vinyl double hung windows, for quality and affordability. Mark McCaulla, Galena, Oh."

"Mike suggested a different style of  window than the old one. We're so glad we trusted his expertise. The window came in sooner than expected. The installers were  professional, tidy, neat, friendly & courteous. We couldn't have asked for a better crew. Excellent experience!"

"Jeremy was punctual and professional. The appointment was easy to make with fast scheduling. I received an in-depth presentation and walk through of my home. He was very responsive to my questions and family's needs. There was no pressure to buy or add equipment I did not want or need. My new system was installed two days later. Larry the technical adviser was amazing. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He installed my system with no problems. He took the time to give us a lesson on how to use the app and new system. A few days later I had a question and he responded right away. I loved the system so much, that I referred my mother. Her system was installed a week later. I feel so protected knowing my family is safe using 1st Security Alarm company. I have the confidence of knowing that I can upgrade my system at any time. I can not thank Jeremy and Larry enough."

"I really can't say enough good things about Dan.   He's just a good person.   Honest, reliable, friendly, great at what he does, trustworthy.   Everything they installed turned out great.   Dan was super helpful in helping me pick out and purchase the necessary tile.   Always there to answer any questions or talk things through.   Dan and Larry did a great job on all the projects.   Really clean.   Very mindful of dust and trying to maintain a clean workspace which is tough during demolitions and installs.    Everything turned out great.   Really couldn't be more happy with the experience.   We even encountered an unforeseen plumbing issue that Dan took time of his weekend to diagnose and resolve.    Above and beyond the call of duty.    I would use Smith and Rogers again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them.

"Greystone Interiors provided outstanding service with awesome results for this remodel.  From the initial contact, design guidance given, and planning, Pat Jewell, was there.  The demolition of the existing bathroom was done quickly and with minimum interruption to our daily living. All the steps in the construction were planned and executed so there would be no waiting on materials, etc.  Dale Jewell even designed special cabinets to house our electric toothbrushes.  (An important feature to me.)  Frequent visits by both Pat and Dale were made to ensure that the remodel stayed on track and we were happy with the progress being made. The whole project was beyond our expectations......Oh, and all debris was cleaned up and hauled away each day.  Greystone has already started the second bathroom!!!

"I had visitors scheduled to arrive the evening of Friday, October 7th, and the Saturday before, found the Bamboo flooring that I wanted on sale at Panel Town. I called Brian Ganyard of Affordable Flooring on Angie's List, and he came to give me an estimate on Monday evening, October 3rd.  Brian was punctual and did the requisite measurements so I could purchase the floors, but his schedule was full, so he asked if I would be interested in using another member of Angie's List whose work he could recommend: Tom Cieszenski of Capital Flooring.  He said he had worked with Tom on many occasions, and he believed I'd be happy with the outcome.

I went to Panel Town on Tuesday and bought the wood and other items I would need. The guys at Panel Town were great, per usual, and they loaded the boxes of wood into my car so I could get them home to "adapt" to my house before they were installed.

I scheduled Tom to begin the project on Thursday morning at 9:00am, and he arrived on time and ready to work. He knew I had cut my measurements close and was careful to have as little waste as possible. He worked non-stop and had the main flooring installed by mid-afternoon Thursday. He returned Friday morning to complete the work, and when he had almost finished,  he offered to paint my baseboards at no charge (!) since they were scuffed.

My floors were installed in time for my visitors and I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Tom of Capital Flooring, Brian of Affordable Flooring, and Panel Town--all three of the Angie's List vendors I used to make it happen!"

"Initially, Steve came out to assess the situation and determine what might be needed. He reviewed and then said that the office would contact me to schedule a time to complete the project. My only issue was that I didn't hear back from the office to schedule and I called back in to get that completed myself. I know they were busy with all the people who had purchased the Angie's List deal. Once scheduled, the gentlemen arrived on time as scheduled. They were both very friendly and helpful and got the job completed in a short time. They were very conscientious making sure that everything was done properly and they cleaned up after so that you'd never know they were ever there.
I would highly recommend USA insulation. They did a great job and left my house the way they found it - other than having plenty of new insulation in my kitchen area!

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Washington Court House, OH

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
