I selected him after inquiring about his bid and then asking him to meet me at my house after his bid so that I could evaluate him personally and determine if he would do what I was expecting to receive for the price. After personally visiting with him for about a half hour I determined that he was reputable and would perform the work that I expected. I was not disappointed. "Called Kris for a bid and he was there in a couple of hours. He had a three week backlog and when opening came up they promptly showed up for job. Throughout the job he consulted with me on everything. It is a family owned company and only Kris his wife and son do the work. Excellent job by all three. Took four days from start to finish. "The concrete was old, cracking, and was just ugly, so I decided to increase my curb appeal by having it removed and replaced. I entertained 4 bids, 3 from local business and 1 from Portland. The Portland bid was twice that of the others, which told me they didn't want my work. The 3 local bids were all in the same ballpark. I chose Joel because he made the best presentation and offered me the most options, and I'm glad I did. Kailui is a local company (a must for me) and a family company (Joel's son works for him). All of his workers were friendly, conscientious, and did little extras to show they care about what they do. I enjoyed the process and am enjoying the end result. "My experience from start to finish was fantastic. Taylor was very responsive to my emails, and came out twice to our property to make estimates. We first were just replacing our driveway pavers, but decided to do our parking strip as well. They got me into their schedule really quickly, and despite the lousy weather, got the job done in less than a week. The work was fantastic; the paver layout was great, the placement of colored pavers great, and they did some great stuff with darker colors on the edges. These folks do a first-class job, worth every penny. I really happy with the who experience."
