"Photon Electric did a superb job on my barn and house. The 1840s barn had old lighting that was shorting - and Marcus fixed that right away. He added outlets and lighting to two large areas of the barn then came to the house to sort out our mixed up panel. He was very attentive - he left the barn swallow nests intact because I had mentioned my husband loved them. He cleaned up everything, worked quickly, and was very patient with the electrical panel in the house. He added a light fixture and gave me a lesson on single pole 3 way dimmers. He was a pleasure to deal with. He was also the first to get us a quote through Angi and we got the work done super fast. We are so happy that he sorted us out. Recommend this proficient professional highly!"

"Reid added 3 additional electrical outlets and a closet light to our 7 year old house. One outlet and the closet light were a bit challenging, but not a problem for him. Timely, courteous, and reasonable - I have already recommended his services to our road neighbors should they ever require electrical work."

Customers say: Quick response

"Unfortunately I have been ghosted by the owner, Anthony, twice. I would agree with some prior reviewers when Anthony is first contacted, he calls back and shows up when agreed. However, after three service calls, it was nine weeks without any communication (call or text) regarding the work that had been discussed on the last call that needed completion. I had to reach out to him and gave him a second chance. So.... after discussing his nine weeks of ghosting and what I expected going forward, he not only ghosted me again without any communications but this time, I did not hear from him for 14 weeks, which during that time, I was without electricity in my basement and he was aware of this and had agreed to return for this job. I reached out to him again and ended his services. Of note, this is my first review and felt strongly enough to write it to help others know while deciding on his/her electrical jobs."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Waterloo, NY

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
