"I was extremely satisfied with the quickness of responding to my inquire for quote. Upon meeting Jose he impressed me with his willingness to explain my options, he patiently listened to my concerns and answered all my questions regarding a huge issue regarding a previous contractor, which Jose assured me they would be able to correct. Upon agreeing to a price, he and his foreman visited the following day to review the plans and the crew arrived two (2) days later. During the project there were a couple of small hiccups however there were quickly addressed and resolved. Through the entire process from getting the quote to completion Jose always made himself available. Another amazing fact is, the project was completed AHEAD of schedule only because the crew worked tirelessly. I have one more project next year and Jose and his crew are the people I will depend on to get it done correctly. "

"Joel did a great job turning some raw undeveloped land into a beautiful up hill driveway. The job involved rebuilding a stone wall, tree stump excavation, sculpting over 250 yards of soils into gentle slopes and finishing the job by spreading gravel for the new driveway. Joel is a master at working an excavator and has excellent work ethics. I am looking forward to having him back to do the next round of work on my property."

"David did a great job with our septic replacement and installation. He came in with the best quote. He was easy to communicate with and everything went smoothly. He did a wonderful job with the landscaping after the installation was completed. The grass grew back quickly. We wish we had done this sooner. Would definitely recommend his services. "

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Wayland, MA

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
