"Jamie and his team took care of all the permits, planning and did a great job of repairing my sidewalk and garage floor. Did it in a timely manner and a very fair price. Extremely happy with the result and his price."

Customers say: Quick response

"The experience started off great. They made me feel like they cared about our project. The first year I noticed some small cracks here there I figure the concrete was settling. They said they come look at it after the first winter they never showed up. After the second year it started crumbling or concrete started turning to sand. I reached out to make contact with them they replied one time to me but never followed up I kept continuing to call finally I made a post on our local Facebook page and the gentleman reached out to me promise he'd come take a look in the spring spring came and never received any type of contact back. Now just 4 years later my walkway looks worse than the one I replaced. My driveway turns more and more to sand and the investment that's supposed to last me over 20 some years I doubt is going to make it to 10. Concrete is supposed to be an investment they were not the cheapest company to go with and I can't believe I wasted the money. "

"Detroit Concrete Leveling diagnosed my somewhat complex driveway issues and fixed the issues as described. They were honest and efficient in quoting and completing the work. I was able to hire a snowplowing contractor after this repair."

"My husband consulted with many contractors. He decided on Metropolitan based on reviews, cost, and professionalism. They showed up (quick) and removed the old sidewalk, framed (working with existing downspouts and a gasline), and poured all in one day. They were super neat, using pads to protect the lawn, and even cleaned the street (the neighbors noted that!). Next day they were out powerwashing and preparing for finish and sealing on the next (weather) sunny, dry day. They really exceeded our expectations, answering all questions and making suggestions. Very professional team throughout the process. I love the new patio, and so do the neighbors! Giovanni and team are exceptional!"

"We had Macomb concrete co tractors 586-871-6443 replace our old cracked driveway in Windermere woods Macomb Township. I had priced our eight other companies and not only was this great company the best price. I have looked around other homes and the work and their quality was by the best I have seen. I spoke with a person named Dennis Merlini and not only did they deliver on timing, quality and price they even put the grass back around my driveway. If I could give them ten stars I certainly would have. I highly recommend this company to everyone. Great job to your whole team. You definitely understand how to go on and above and you are old school. Thank you Mike Garvonic"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Wayne, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
