We hired Mike's Home Renovations to replace the roof on our garage a while back and were very impressed with the work they did and the spotless clean up that we hired him last spring to take on the entire downstairs remodel of our old farm house while we went away on vacation. They removed all of the paneling, drywall, ceilings, flooring surround tub and entry door. Put in new drywall and ceilings, painted, installed wood flooring and trim throughout and new walkin shower and the entry door. Mike kept us up on the work progress as it went with phone calls and pictures to us. When we returned to see the finished job we were thrilled to say the least! "We received many estimates for this rather large project and were very skeptical, as we live 3 hours away. We were looking to have a 24x40 garage built at our lakefront home and we needed our sliding glass door replaced and framing repaired as it had been neglected and was rotting. We decided to go with Terin Wales, because his estimate was very reasonable, and because we actually received a written, detailed proposal in the mail, it was impressive! He was very easy to get a hold of and returned calls within the day (others did not). Doing a project this big, remotely, you need to know you can get a hold of the contractor and trust what he says. Terin did just that and listened to what we wanted, made great suggestions, pulled permits, cooperated with the tree service working at the same time on our property, and kept us up to date almost daily when we weren't  there.  We can't say enough great things about this contractor. Quality work! Very professional! Finished on time! Did many unexpected extra things that just solidify what contractors should do -please the customer! For example, our rotted sliding glass door frame, they spent an entire day fixing and reframing it, then made sure it wouldn't happen again by sealing it properly. They even replaced the framing and cleaned up the mess on the inside and it looks fabulous! We decided to add a window to the garage, no problem, we now have 2 because Terin gave us such a great deal on some he already had in stock and it looks fabulous!  I could go on, but all you need to know is WE ARE VERY PLEASED! We have many more projects ahead and we will definitely hire Terin and his team for all of them, big or small!   "

"There are several markers of a reputable business: quality of product and cost are obviously important, but so is integrity and the willingness to stand behind the work performed. Rand R impressed us in all these aspects. <br /> <br /> Our home is a drafty Michigan farmhouse and in order to increase energy efficiency, we decided to insulate the crawlspace. Rand R is business local to us--and we prefer to use local businesses whenever possible. Customer service was prompt and professional and we are happy with the job they performed. <br /> <br /> What especially impressed us is this: our crawlspace is very narrow--one literally has to crawl on one's belly to move around in it and there are a variety of pipes that run through it. Following the installation of the insulation, we discovered that pipes had come apart at the joints in two places and we needed to call a plumber to repair them. I do not believe this was the result of negligence at all. <br /> <br /> When I reported this to Rand R, they did not argue. They promptly covered the cost of the plumbing repair. They stood behind their work and I commend them for this. Accidents can happen and the mark of a business with integrity is that, when they do, they are addressed fully and appropriately. <br /> <br /> For this reason--as well as for the good service we received overall and our happiness with the service provided--I give them an unreserved recommendation."
