"Ken was awesome. He showed up on time, was knowledgeable and honest. It's our foundation, and our interior has cracks from the settling of all the rain, Ken could have told us anything and we would have probably believed him. But he was so honest, and we really appreciated that. He told us that there is some rotting wood in the frame that needs to be replaced asap, to stop the settling, that would cost about $800 including parts and labor. He then said that our foundation looks good, but could probably do with some seismic retrofitting at some point, but not urgent or necessary at this time. We had Foundation Works do the work. The team that did the work was prompt, courteous, cleaned up after themselves and showed us in detail the work that was done. We would definitely hire them again and have referred them to our neighbors."

"I honestly don’t know where to begin. Working with Mike and HIC Builders to remodel my kitchen and bathroom was an overall amazing experience with so many positives. It was my first time remodeling my house. There were so many aspects of concern and stress. He went into revision mode and was quick to come up with an alternate plan that we could do now that my budget had changed. That really impressed me. His ability to maneuver and work with different financial circumstances while maintaining a high quality of work. It also showed me that he cared about my project, even after the scope of the work had become smaller. I now know he has many projects going on at any given time, but you wouldn’t have guessed it by the attention and excellent communication he provides. I never felt like I couldn’t reach out to him for questions (and I had many) or clarifications in each phase. For me, choosing the right contractor came down to trust. I was remodeling from out of town, so I couldn’t check in on the process on a constant basis. Mike kept me informed every step of the way and eased my anxiety if anything popped up. If an issue or potential issue came about, he would bring it up to let me know this or that happened, but then he would tell me that it was no problem to deal with, and provide a solution as how he planned to work around it. The entire process was always transparent and clear. I could go on and on about what sets HIC Builders apart, but I hope this gives you a snapshot on why they are the right contractors for the job. I have zero complaints and they went beyond my expectations. Best of all, the end result looks like a million bucks."
