Our property has a low spot, and when it rains it creates a huge puddle (pond!) on one side of the driveway. Because we will be doing some driveway work, we needed to remedy this situation first.  Using both Angie?s List and other sources, we obtained estimates, many of which were quite high and the proposals seemed to be overkill for our situation. We contacted AJ (M&M Construction) and he responded quickly to meet with us to discuss the project. We had sent him pictures of the issue after a rain so he could better understand the problem.  He listened to our concerns, discussed options and give us his best solution and sent us a proposal the next day.

Based on our meeting with all the contractors, we decided to accept AJ?s proposal.  He was very knowledgeable, professional and willing to listen to what we had to say (which other contractors were not...one contractor came without pen or paper, asking us for some, even called his office several times asking how to use the equipment to measure the job!!). AJ stayed in touch concerning the scheduling of the work. The job needed to be coordinated with the driveway job and AJ worked with the contactor to ensure the drain would be placed appropriately. That saved us a lot of phone calls between contractors and left us feeling confident there would be no issues between the two jobs.

The crew arrived on time, got right to work and worked to get the job done in one day. AJ and his crew worked very well together. During the digging of the trench for the drain pipes, they ran into a huge buried tree stump that must have been left during the house construction. AJ offered to remove the stump, rather than work around it, noting that, as the stump rots it might cause sagging of the new driveway. He gave us a fair price to remove it and after some effort, he removed it and dragged it away. Even with that disruption, the job was completed in one day and completely to our satisfaction. After the drain and drain pipes were installed, they raked out the area, leveled it and left it ready for the driveway contractor. They even reseeded the area that was affected by the dragging of the stump.

We have had a number of construction projects done at our home and often we never saw the supervisor or person in charge on the job. But AJ was there from the beginning to the completion of the project. To us, that is important. If there is an issue, we know it will be addressed immediately.

As another client said in their review, I would not waste any time with other contactors. M&M Construction did the job from the beginning estimate to completion (and them some!), exceeding our expectations. Before leaving, AJ made sure we knew to call him if there were any issues so he can come out to remedy them. Thanks to AJ and his crew for a great job. "Ethan did an excellent job of designing and executing my Goshen-stone walkways and patio, and pebble-stone patio. I was very pleased with the work that he did on my property, transforming ugly spaces (concrete and overgrown grass) into beautiful and relaxing ones. For examples, he transformed a disused and unappealing upper patio into a Goshen-stone, lakefront retreat. In addition, he came up with a creative solution to transform a dilapidated lower concrete patio into a pebble-stone patio with beautiful granite-stone edging and blue-stone steppers; this solution also saved me from the expense of having to tear out the concrete. "I contacted Home Facelifters to remove a small concrete barrier from my garage, to repair the porch at the end of my house that was developing cracks and holes around the foundation, and to perform a couple of handyman tasks (replace a doorknob and replace smoke detectors). Joe replied to my inquiry and came out to give me an estimate within a couple of days of when I contacted him. When he and his crew started working on the porch repair they found that the problems were much more extensive than originally anticipated. The porch was actually pulling away from the house, and as the crew started to work on the porch they found a couple of large cracks running the length of the foundation under the floor of the porch, making it unsafe. It was clear to all of us that the porch would have to be replaced. Joe quickly came up with some estimates and found a solution to retain the roof over one end of the porch. He proposed replacing the porch with a new deck. The crew supported the roof on the side of the porch and removed the underlying porch and the concrete slabs. They dug holes for new piers and footing and poured concrete. It was also discovered there was some old (not active) termite damage on the lower side of the house where the new deck would be attached (this was damage that was treated when I bought the house 16 years ago so it was no longer active but the bottom portion of part of that side of the house had to be repaired and reshingled). During the entire process Joe was great about communicating the latest set-back and keeping me up to date on additional expenses. In the end the crew built a beautiful new deck with railings up to code. The job was much more complicated than what I originally anticipated and ended up being more expensive but was necessary. I may have been able to get the work done elsewhere for slightly less money but I do not know that I would have received the same quality craftsmanship. Joe and his assistant were great to work with throughout the process. They communicated clearly about when they were going to show up and about the progress of the work. They worked long days, often after dark, in freezing cold weather but finished most of the work as quickly as possible. There are still a couple of things left to be done (painting and building stairs to the deck) but those things have to wait until warmer weather. This is the second time I have used Home Facelifters for a major project at my home, and I highly recommend them."

"The process was seem less.  After visiting their manufacturing site,  I chose the style fencing that I was interested in. Steve came out to my house and took measurements at which point we made some changes in the style. He accommodated us without  any trouble. After the fence was complete, he and his crew came out to fit it before the powder coating process commenced. They installed it yesterday, 3/30/16, and it look s great !!"

The guys from North American Building performed their job perfectly. Glenn was very responsive from the first phone call right on through to the end. For every question we had they had a real answer. Neat and clean throughout the project. Never missed a day and were finished on time. The quality of work is impressive and we have gone through a few contractors over the years so we know what is good and what isn't. They designed the deck and recommended materials and even provided their own building plans and handled the permit. Not to mention the interior work we needed done on our kitchen and moldings and finish work we had done in our living room etc. Excellent work. We will definitely be using them in the future. We already have our next project in the works. Going to use these guys while we can.
