"I got other estimates but Kerry's Tree Service seemed to be the most informed about my tree. Instead of just trimming my tree, they told me ways to save the tree as it was displaying many dead branches. The communication between the one who took my order and his crew was excellent. They seemed to care."

"This was truly the best experience I’ve had with my tree trimming service. Abel was on time, very professional and evaluated my job site. I’ve owned my home for 24 years and have always had issues with tree services but not in this case. This team made it the best experience I’ve had thus far... They are very professional, courteous and fast team. Once we agreed on a time, I was first greeted by Abel Jr, very nice young man, he then mentioned that his brothers were going to arrive with the truck and chipper. They arrived on time and I met with the sons, great group of guys. I’ll use their services again. thx guys, Ken"

"Nicole was very informative & reassuring on the phone.  I believed I had bees in my duplex's porch roof as I had had them once before many years ago.  I had seen them -- what seemed to be scouting out the roofline 2 wkends before on a sunny morning-- & although I had had bees before, I forgot about it -- until the following weekend when I saw them already coming & going and knew they were settling in, so I started calling around Monday morning.  I love bees (but can't have them in my roof) & I was concerned that they be removed & relocated, if possible.  That I had made these observations & called quickly was very helpful to Nicole -- and was able to give me a lot of bee information, and we booked for Friday morning 8 am so I would not have to be late to work.
Steve was running a little late with the traffic.  Can't remember who called who 1st, but I got him off La Brea & on a side street so altho' he was a little late, I was able to get set him up & leave him to deal with it without being more then a few minutes late to work.
Although I gave a check to Steve I did have to remind Nicole to get me an invoice for my tax records.  I think she was having some email issues but I did get it about a week later.  Altho' Steve had mentioned seeing wasps, I didn't realize until I saw the billing description that I had had Wasps, not Bees !  Good thing I got BeeCatchers out here right away !

"Because I believe it to be relevant, I'll start my review by my first impression of this service provider.  I live in the Hollywood Hills on a narrow, winding street. He arrived at the same time as the huge delivery truck that came to deliver my new refrigerator. He parked right in front of the truck not realizing what was happening. I asked him if he would kindly move up a bit so they could get closer to my house. He looked at me... rolled his eyes... shook his head back and forth a few times... huffed and puffed and then moved his car up a few feet. He was obviously "put out" That's when I got a really bad feeling.
I showed him the sprinklers and he did what he was supposed to do... tune them up. He had to fix or replace a couple of sprinkler heads and I paid him extra. I disregarded my "first impression" and gave him the benefit of the doubt when I asked if he could plant some drought resistant plants in the front of my house. He came back another day. He was very nice and all went well.
It wasn't until a few days later that I noticed that one sprinkler was not working and some of the new plants weren't getting water. I took a picture of the dry soil and sent it via email. I asked him if he could stop by if he was in the neighborhood to take a look at it. His response was surprising and quite rude.
He wrote back his reasons for the sprinkler's malfunction, indicating it couldn't possibly be his fault. "Your gardener must have messed with it." (I haven't had a gardener in months). "Someone walked by and hit it."  (I live on a tiny, dead-end street. I assured him no one walked near it) . " It was working fine when I left."  Maybe. But now it's not.  I believe he was insinuating that I was lying.
He then accused me of assuming he works for free. He said something like...  "I don't work for free, you know. I don't have to come back." Huh?  Where did THAT come from??? " I don't like your attitude," he told me. Trust me... I couldn't have been nicer. There was no call for his being nasty. Now, in all honestly... I did think that fixing the sprinkler head "might" be covered by the work he performed. After all, it had only been a days really. All he had to do was tell me it wasn't covered by the initial Angie's List order and that there would be a fee for him to return. I would have paid him. Instead, he incorrectly assumed that I was asking him to do something... for nothing.
I've been in business for myself for 40 years and I would never talk to a client that way because I would have been out of business in my first year. I believe he's clueless as to his unprofessional behavior and I got the impression that he sees the whole incident as my doing. He needs to know that email has no "voice" and it's important to choose your words carefully. How you write it doesn't alway translate the same way when you say it.
I, on the other-hand, was very careful to choose my words wisely. Didn't seem to matter.

FAQs for tree service projects in Westchester, CA

Professionals remove shrubs by first cutting back the branches using tools like pruning shears or chainsaws for thicker stems. They then cut the base close to the ground and dig around the root system to remove the roots completely, preventing regrowth. Finally, they’ll ensure proper disposal of branches and debris while complying with local regulations.

A bush stump will regrow if any portion of its root system remains. When even a small section of roots is left behind, new shoots emerge and regenerate the bush with leggy, spreading growth. Working with a professional landscaper ensures the complete removal of the stump and all roots, which is essential to prevent any regrowth, ensuring that the area remains clear and maintenance is minimized.
