Get matched with top wood flooring refinish pros in Westchester, CA

"Juan’s assistants arrived on-time and began the prep work. Juan arrived shortly afterwards and the job went smoothly. We asked Juan to refinish about 90 square feet of hard wood landings to match the stair treads and install matching baseboard. He recommended one of two different stains to match the landings to the stairs most closely. Juan got the tint exactly right. Among the things I really liked about Juan and his company was that he speaks very good English, so that there was no confusion. He did the work at the time and date he promised. He charged a fair price. And Juan takes pride in his work. I would only hire Juan if we ever need work done again on our wood floors."

"They are on Angie's List. It was an excellent experience. They were very diligent in seeing that they did exactly what we've asked for. They involved us in the decision making in almost every step of the way in terms of what materials would be used. They were very careful, they cleared up carpeting and wood from floors that had water damage and they were very, very competent. The one problem that was encountered when they removed carpeting from the area of the living room which was one of the rooms they laid the hardwood flooring was that they found water damage so they made us aware of it and suggested what the problem might be. We were able then to call a plumber and repaired it very quickly so that they could continue. Their consultation was excellent."

"I can’t recommend Royal Oak Flooring highly enough. My wife and I met Laurie at her shop on Ventura Blvd. (suggest you make an appointment to ensure finding her there) in order to figure out whether Royal Oak could accommodate what we were trying to do. Previously we’d talked with 2 big-box stores and 2 small flooring shops but they all seemed to be trying to sell us very basic (but cheaper) installations. We wanted a floor with a thin black strip about 5” in from the wall to serve as a border. We also wanted mitered 45-degree corners rather than butted. The Royal Oak store is not large, compared to, say, Floors & Decor, but it has an overwhelming variety of samples. And Laurie is the kind of person who will make a phone call on the spot to find out if what you want is possible. She gave us several 2”x2” samples to take home and emailed us quotes for the different flooring and installations we were considering. After a few days we settled on a floor with 5” wide maple planks and the black border. We appreciated Laurie’s willingness to listen to what we wanted rather than try to sell us what she’d already done 1000 times. We realized why Laurie had the confidence to consider alternatives to the basic installation after Rafael and Abel showed up. These guys were the craftsmen we were beginning to think existed only on some other continent, the craftsmen who’d have to be flown over to the U.S. and put up in a motel while they worked on our mitered corners and our black border 5” from the wall. My wife and I are both retired engineers, so (1) we’re detail-oriented, and (2) we got a lot of time on our hands. I can be a pain in the butt, for sure, but Rafael and Abel never shied away from questions. And they asked them too. At one point I asked Rafael if there was a saying in Spanish equivalent to “The Devil is in the details.” Smiling, he assured me there was. Quite honestly, it got so that just seeing these guys in the morning was reassuring. They cleaned up everyday before leaving, made Herculean attempts to keep dust from escaping, and in general tried to reduce their impact on the normal house functioning as much as possible. We’re very happy with the new hardwood floor we got thanks to Royal Oak Flooring."

"Victor Jimenez and his company Dynamic Hardwood Flooring are first-rate! I called them to install sheet linoleum in a bathroom, and he showed me that wood-patterned vinyl boards are a much better product at no extra cost. The installation was done on schedule, in 4~5 hours, and it looks beautiful! They did all the cutting outdoors to keep our house free of dust, and cleaned up everything afterward. Finally, I was very happy with their modest bid, and there were never any suggestions that it should change. Victor has the experience (20 years) and skill to get the job done both quickly and well."

"Amir is incredibly communicative, responsive, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, honest. He has extensive experience in all aspects of home renovation and remodeling, from pools, kitchens, and bathrooms to flooring and roofing. He understood the urgency of our situation and had his team at our home within 24 hours. He immediately knew what needed to be done and gave us confidence that everything would be handled properly. Amir is truly a pleasure to work with. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found him and will absolutely work with him for any future renovation, remodeling, or home improvement needs. I highly recommend him and his team."

"Mario's provided accurate estimate of project, ordered custom maple flooring to match existing floor. Mario's team was very professional with installation of new floor and refinishing existing floor. They went the extra mile to insure we were happy with results. 70 year old floor looks amazing and the new floor matches well. Neighbors were impressed and are interested in Mario's team for their own floor projects."

"I am a real estate Broker with Compass in Santa Monica. I hire George Gomez to do both flooring installation as well as sand, stain & sealing of existing wood flooring. He is reliable, reasonable & does very good work. I would recommend him with great confidence that he will do great work. -Robert Maschio"

"I expected the baseboards to be removed for the install of the floors and then reinstalled. I was never told that the baseboard would not be removed... which means that the wood was only installed short of the baseboards, and now, I will always have to have a base shoe. This is not a design element that I want to be forced to live with. We went back and forth about how unhappy I was with being pigeonholed to this decision... and things got quite contentious at times. But all in all, the wood floors themselves look good."

"Had an intensive hardwood repair job that needed to be done and had multiple other professionals not want to take the job on after providing quotes. Was beyond relieved that not only did he take it on, it was done within a week and looks brand new. Fair price that was in line with all other quotes, and a great overall experience. Will use again for other projects."

"We were looking for a contractor to renovate our kitchen and floor. Sean with Green Renovation arrived and gave us an estimate. The job took about 2 months and the results were spectacular. They totally hit the mark with our needs and requests, more than we expected for sure! Very professional, always on time, which was extremely important for us. Their Office customer service was excellent.as well, in full compliance with the general feeling, that these are very trustworthy people to work with! I recommend."
