They came in on day 1 and laid out tarps and drop clothes to protect my windows, shrubs, and siding. "I had an excellent experience with RB Farina's work replacing old wooden gutters and old wooden fascia and soffits with new aluminum gutters and PVC soffit, fascia, and molding on my small house. I must have caught things at a good time, in late winter, because it was just 8 days between my posting my job description on Angies List, and the dumpster leaving my driveway after the work was completed. The original bid was completed at the original price, with some extras (significant touchup painting, and a quick repair on the 2nd story shutter of my neighbor who was kind enough to let us use her yard for ladders) done with no upcharge. I did not seek multiple bids so I cannot say whether the price was high or low; I counted on the fact that the bidder could expect competition. Weather was good for working and we had no ugly surprises from my very old house, so the work went pretty smoothly. I had the pleasant experience of finding that for each of the materials and methods that I either knew about or researched, in every case the Farina team was using top quality. They are good about communication: calls to the office, or by cellphone to the estimator, always were answered live or resulted in callback in a few minutes. The onsite crew was polite, responsive, and very professional. (They also looked like they were enjoying their work, which is always a good sign). The office was very proactive: the written bid arrived quickly, and every check I wrote resulted in an emailed invoice/receipt within a couple hours. For this they are using a platform called HouseCallPro, which automates the workflow considerably. (Why shouldn't buying this kind of services get as good a workflow and email trail as, say, ordering a toaster on the Internet?) . I worked hard to make the jobsite easy to work in (moved stuff away from the house, took down my window screens before they came, ran a wire out the window to provide 20amp electric power, provided a map of where the electricity and water are on outside of house, provided outside access to a bathroom), and the crew was appreciative. Day 1 was demolition, Day 2 was carpentry, Day 3 and 4 were gutter hanging, sealing, and painting. Once they got the gutters up and sealed, they ran the hose into the gutter to check for leaks and flow before they did their final cleanup and left. After watching how they did this work and what materials they used, I have pretty high confidence that their work will last a long time,. I plan to sign up for their annual gutter/roof/chimney maintenance program so that my gutters get cleaned and somebody I trust looks at my roof."

"We used lifetime roofers when replacing our entire roof. When contacting Kyle he responded immediately and with my hectic schedule came over to do an estimate at a convenient time for me. With weather delays the roofers were able to finish the job very quickly. Kyle was very reasonable with the cost of labor and he let me use materials that I bought. I am very meticulous and Kyle followed through with any issue or concern that was raised throughout the process. We also had help with his painter and handyman who were beyond helpful and fixed things to my expectations. I would recommend Kyle he was honest, reliable, and professional. His response time with calls or texts was impressive. "Joe and his team did an amazing job! We are very pleased with how nice our house looks with the new roof, windows, back door and vinyl siding. Joe is a very good communicator and did a nice job helping us select materials. He mounted samples on the house so we could select our color. Once the work got started, everything went smoothly. The crew arrived on time every morning (for about three weeks), worked diligently through out the day, and left our home in a presentable state at the end of the each day. They were friendly and polite. Joe, the owner, also checked in on our house everyday and was very accessible for communication, either at our house each morning before we left for work or any time by phone or email. Joe also called us right away when there was an issue. There really weren't any issues except that our house is old and didn't have the correct foundation underneath the existing roof and siding. Joe explained to us and showed us the trouble spots, explained how it should be fixed and the extra cost this involved. We are confident that everything was fixed and installed correctly and we no longer have to worry about the past problems we were experiencing. Joe's electrician was also very good and did a great job with our outdoor outlets and light fixtures. Our neighbor told he was watching the crew work one day and was very impressed about the quality of their work - very detailed oriented. Their attention to the finishing details was excellent. Once the house was finished, we even saw a car pull over to take some pictures because it looked so good!"

"Barn Rescue – My barn was hit by a vehicle, which broke a large post and pushed section of siding out from under the roofline, plus major damage at ground level. Brad shored it up for the winter with an array of jacks and an enormous chain to ensure the thing wouldn’t fall down till they could return in the spring. Come spring, they fully replaced the damaged section’s support members and facade, and added bracing to the attic, rendering it stronger than before. Foundation support: The sagging beams and jerry-rigged support columns in the dirt basement of our 18th century house were inadequate. They dug and poured a dozen footings and lally columns, supporting a line of new 6x6 and 9x9 beams that provide solid support to the house above. They showed up promptly every day, worked fast, and left the site clean and finished. Both Brad and Chad have a deep knowledge about old houses and the techniques that were used, and I felt my historic register property was in good hands."

"Very high pressure sales. They were more interested in getting it done quickly than the quality of the installation. The aluminum trim around the windows looks good but they did not replace all of the old wood underneath I requested. They would put it over anything. They did not bother to brush off the sills before covering them or remove saw dust. Many of them were cut too small because they assumed all trim was the same size. They had to redo most of them and they didn’t do the bottom corner’s correctly even though I explained to them how they should be done. When they didn’t want to do something they acted like they didn’t understand me."

"Our 120 year old house had been neglected. The front farmers’ porch was nearly black with mold. So the power washing took many hours. A lot of the wood was rotted so that needed to be prepped and patched and some boards replaced. Again, hours and hours of labor. I hired Rick because of his reviews on Angie’s List and he certainly lived up to his reputation. He and his nephew are very personable, and clearly know their stuff. Meticulous attention to detail, and perfectionism. He also painted our bulkhead and 2 doors, which I wasn’t expecting. The house looks beautiful and I know it was done right and with the best products available."
