Our family pet, a hamster, escaped and got into the central air ducts and passed away.  We were very sad as it was, so trying to figure out how to deal with the remains made a bad situation worse.  We called several air duct cleaners and they wanted nothing to do with it, and a different pest company said they wouldn't help us either.  I was really surprised and bummed that no one could/would give us advice.
