"I have used Sakonnet Lawn Care for well over 10 years for both lawn mowing services and garden maintenance. "Price was very reasonable for specified services.  Very prompt with lawn assessment and estimate. Provided services promptly.  Fertilizing produced greener thicker grass where there already was some grass.  Overseed, however, was not effective on the bare areas, due to lack of soil prep.  Core aeration alone was not adequate soil prep for overseeding on Hard bare ground and areas covered in dead grass.  I got better results when I followed up with some soil loosening and seeding myself.  This should have been obvious to a professional and included in plan and pricing. Granted I have a challenging lawn site, so it needed a more complete plan. <br /> Overseeding was done too late in year, immediately before heavy acorn and leaf fall, which further undermined new grass growth.  I suggested an earlier, even Spring seeding and agent dismissed the suggestion because of weed growth in summer.  Better to have some grass growth mixed with weeds, than no grass growth at all. <br />"

"Jim carefully measured, assessed and costed out the project. He gave us two options so we could make a decision based on our budget and our strategy. The quote was higher than any other that we had received, but we were confident in the quality of work that Larry's team would be able to provide, after all, you get what you pay for. What gave us this confidence? The several positive reviews from past customers, the 'A' rating and the knowledge and professionalism that Larry displayed while on site pricing out the job. Larry didn't just walk the property and give us a quote as the other competitors did. He took his time to walk the property with us and explain what he was going to do and why it was important it needed to get done. He went over several options with us and we chose the plan that worked best for us and our lawn. Larry reviewed our lawn on a Saturday and was able to expedite our project and get his crew onsite and working the following Tuesday (that Monday was a holiday). The job only took two days and the old lawn was removed, cleaned, loamed and re-seeded. They trimmed the hedges and shrubs, mulched the shrub/flower beds and tree rings, edged the mulch beds and tree rings and top dressed the other side of our lawn with new seed and loam to fill in the bare spots. Two weeks later I am writing this review. Our new lawn is coming in nicely and our mulch beds look fantastic. There were heavy rains the day that the seed was spread which could have washed some of the seed away, but the crew foreman, Riley (Larry's son), assured us that if the lawn came in spotty, they would come back to spread more. You will see the before and after photos of the condition that the lawn was in before, a couple shots of the lawn a week and a half after the work was done and a couple from today (2 weeks later).
