"We were very impressed with the work on some of our neighbors' houses after a recent storm came through. Gave Kornacki a call as the signs said and met with him the next day. He was very professional in going over what was damaged on our roof, what was needed to be repaired and made it very easy to deal with our insurance company through the process. He also made a very wise suggestion as to the color of the shingles to be replaced, which we were impressed with. When it came time for the shingles to be replaced, the supplies were delivered on the date advertised, and after weather delayed their work into the weekend, the staff that he had come to our house were on time and ready to go. "We couldn?t be more pleased with the work done on our roof by JE Roofing. From start to finish everything was professionally handled. When Jeff came out to give us an estimate, we were also given at that time a copy of their business license and certificate of liability insurance. We had gotten a number of estimates, even one from an in town roofing company and a couple of them had told us that we also needed to replace the entire cedar shingle dormer on one side of our house. Most of the bids were in the same ballpark give a few hundred dollars, but one of the main deciding factor for us to pick JE Roofing was their honesty. The previous roof had, this ugly grey tar line around the entire house. John and his team fixed that and the roof just blends into the house now, no more unsightly tar line. They also replaced only what cedar shingles on the house that needed to be replaced and stained them. We had a bundle of these shingles from years ago, and they used ours and our stain. They didn?t try and pad the bill by saying they needed more. Actually, we got a discount on our bill because we provided the cedar shingles. This company is VERY honest. The quality of their work was outstanding.  They also stand behind their work with a 7 year guarantee. They do not use sub-contractors, everyone on the job works directly for the company. They cleaned up each day after they finished. "I found Apex on Angie's List. I had contacted several others (also on the list) but Andy Kerman from Apex was the only one to respond and arrange a face to face meeting. <br /> Andy met with us several times and we kept in contact mainly by email and phone. Andy was always quick to respond to my messages and honestly answered all our questions. He assigned us some "homework" to do regarding picking out fixtures, floor and wall tiles.This helped us to have an "investment" of time and effort in the project. I was also an invaluable learning experience to see what was available in today's marketplace. <br /> Apex crew members Albert and Kyle removed all the fixtures and debris & cleaned up as they went along. Since this is the only bathroom they had to make arrangements to keep a functioning toilet as soon after demolition and sub-floor repairs would permit. They also made sure that the water supply was not interrupted any longer than was necessary. Toilet function was maintained throughout the course of the job. <br /> Apex installed 3/4 plywood and half inch cement board as well as a new tub-shower unit, commode and pedestal sink. New in-wall mounted medicine cabinet and over the john storage cabinet. <br /> Tile was installed on the floor and walls (up 45 inches from floor). The existing door was removed. The inside casing was replaced and hall side casing was (carefully) removed to be reinstalled. <br /> A new door and inside casing were installed and window jamb extension with trim. The door side facing the hall was stained and finished to match up with the existing woodwork. The match was done extremely well and matches the 60+ year old trim almost exactly. <br /> Because the bathroom is small, there were some challenges regarding installation of larger components. However, the Apex crew handled them quickly, quietly and systematically. They never showed any uncontrolled frustration even when things were very tight. Bert and Kyle were always on time and worked the entire time they were here except for a short break in the morning and lunch. They were always courteous and answered any questions. "Eric removed two layers of shingles from our 40 year old roof and replaced them with new 3D Duration shingles. The job started with us needing someone to replace some siding on the chimney due to water leaking in behind the siding causing deterioration and paint peeling off of the siding panels. The repair which we were pursuing was relatively small and consequently we contacted several qualified contractors and they were not willing to even come and scope out our job. Someone referred us to Maximus and when I called and talked to Eric, he was willing to take on the project even though it was small. When he showed up to evaluate the situation and give an estimate for the job, he discovered that the cause of our problem was due to the concrete cap around our chimneys that had cracked and separated and allowed water to seep in and deteriorate the trim boards and siding.We agreed to have him replace the siding and trim boards and to replace the chimney chase because his quote was very reasonable. During this same visit, I was asking him about the condition of the shingles on the roof because they had been in place for 20 years. They were showing signs of wear but he said they could last another year or two. I inquired as to the cost of him roofing the house too while he was doing the other jobs for us and that quote seemed very reasonable so I agreed to that job as well. He has just finished the total project in less than a week and everything looks really good. He maintained the schedule that he promised and he was on site nearly every day to make sure things were running smooth. We will definitely call Maximus again when the need arises. <br />"
