"The owner Joe, seal coated our double driveway personally. Joe had completely excavated our previous driveway and replaced it with an expanded new one. He was on time for the date that we had scheduled. He used the highest quality sealer, known as Liquid Gold. Joe was meticulous in the application of the sealer and made sure the job was neat and clean upon completion. The end result was a professional driveway in both function and appearance. Primo Paving Inc. has our highest recommendation."

"It went very well. We discussed material and options. I am very pleased with the outcome, Louie and his family took very good care of me. They pay attention to detail. It was heartening in this day and age to find a trustworthy, skilled and good old-fashioned contractor. I honestly can't wait to hire them for the next project at my home. As a single woman, I often feel like a target. I felt protected by Ranieri Construction and the work is simply beautiful. Louie personally selected my granite and all materials."

"I could not have been happier with Dan Connolly and Bellrock Construction. This guy is a real pro mason. He install two large granite steps that most hardscape contractors would not be able to work with and tied everything into the existing foundation and retaining walls perfectly. He went above and beyond fixing a couple of issues that were not visible until demolitions was done. And all at a reasonable price. <br /> Use Dan Connolly, you will not be disappointed. <br />"

"The project required working close to the house with a backhoe which was expertly done.  It also required stone cutting and fitting which was also done with expertise.  The crew was professional and worked with us throughout the project to keep us informed of their progress and making sure that we were pleased with the work.  The finished steps, retaining walls and walkway are beautiful and we've already received compliments from neighbors for the work. <br /> This is the second project that we've hired BestHands to do for us.  Last year, they replaced an old patio with a new, larger one and added a retaining wall along one side.  We wanted a customized, curved shape for the patio that the BestHands crew were able to provide beyond our expectations. <br /> We recommend BestHands to anyone interested in hiring a team of professionals who can exceed expectations for the work they perform. <br />"

"I am extremely pleased with the work that Kirby Masonry did. I had an old all brick stairway (8 feet wide, 7 stairs high) replaced with brick risers and pillars/sidewalls (as original) but with blue mist granite treads. I believe the brick color was Mohawk. I originally thought of using bluestone but Jason suggested blue mist granite. He and his stone supplier, Southridge Farm in Walpole, informed me that bluestone is not as durable, supply is dwindling and is more expensive than blue granite. It was a good alternative to the regular gray granite that is used and I like the look. The mortar in the original brick stairs was disintegrating due to the use of salt for snow/ice melting and I was committed to having a stair surface that would be less permeable to chemicals. Jason and his crew did outstanding work and the results are superb. The new stairs look fantastic and are much safer now that the old brick stairs have been replaced. The new stairs looked so good that I was inspired to have the stair landing leading to the sidewalk and the upper landing leading to the front door replaced as well. The original landings were stamped concrete and were OK but detracted from the look of the new stairs. I had Jason and his crew install both landings with Belgard rectangle pavers (London Cobble Danville Blend for the landings Charcoal for the borders). The finished job added a cleaner, elegant and updated look to the house. In addition to the front stair and landing replacement I had Jason and his crew point the stone foundation of the house. It had been pointed about 15 years ago but I felt it was time to get it done again. I like the work that Jason and the crew had done and was confident that they would do a thorough job with the pointing, too. Jason had time in his schedule to fit in the pointing job so I had it done right after the stairs were replaced. I talked to several masons last fall before selecting Kirby Masonry and was running up against the cold weather for getting the job done. Quotes ranged from $4,000 to $20,000 depending on how much work was involved. Jason's quote was most favorable and he offered different options since I wasn't sure if I was going to replace the pillars/sidewalls or if I needed to replace the landings. He was flexible and provided me with several locations where he was currently doing work or had completed work so I could see what his work was like. I liked that these jobs were local and that he was transparent about his work. He could have done the work last November but we decided to have it done this past spring. Jason offered the best price and could do the job sooner than the others. It took about a week to do all the jobs. After the jobs were done I noticed there was a small gap in the upper landing between the border and the wall where more mortar was needed. I contacted Jason and he took care of it. It was a very small fix and not critical so I was not surprised when it was not taken care of right away. I believe that if I was more concerned about getting this fixed sooner Jason would have done it. Overall, I highly recommend Kirby Masonry and will definitely hire them again for any masonry job I might have. Jason is very timely and communicates mostly by texting and responds quickly. He was there every day working with his crew. They did a great job cleaning up and even replaced the soil in the areas of the lawn next to the side pillars which had been displaced/moved. I have received many compliments on the new stairs and landing from my neighbors and people who parked on the street near the house. Unlike some masons he did not place a sign on the lawn with his company name. I suggested that he might want to but he was ok not doing so. I've had some requests for his contact information which I gladly provide. Since Jason is very busy and if you like his quote I recommend that you get on his schedule as soon as possible. Some tips: Use sand on brick stairs. Salt and chemicals wreck the mortar. Who knew especially when we were trying to keep up during the megastorms of 2014-2015? If you go to Southridge Farm you might want to bring your kids as they have farm animals (including a llama) on site. They have a huge selection of pavers and stones to view. Check their website for more info."

"Joe Falco was absolutely wonderful to work with. Joe came to our home and we explained what we needed done and Joe said he could remove the 3 large concrete slabs with no problem. The day Joe came to do the job, I could not believe how fast the job went. He arrived at 7:30 am and he was done at 8:05 am. Joe was a life saver because no one wanted to do the job of removing the concrete. I would give Joe Falco a 10++++++ for a job well done.If you need a mason or concrete removed, call Joe, you will not be disappointed with his work."

"Reached out to company to get info about having a walkway redone. Was informed company needed longer does the, company only does Basketball courts. Disregard both Angie’s list services as well as services listed on company website. Just a heads up for anyone looking for hardscape/landscape services!"

"I highly recommend this contractor. I did not grade his cost because I didn't get competing bids (and therefore have no frame of reference), but I'm very happy with what he did and how he did it, so the value to me was excellent. His estimate was for $1600 and he stuck to that, except for the cost of some gravel after I agreed to get it: he charged me only what the gravel cost him. <br /> <br /> I called Bill and he came down the same day. He gave me an estimate, I accepted, and he did the work the next day. <br /> <br /> First they tore out the asphalt and trucked it away. It was pretty tight and he had to be very careful not to hit the house, garage, and granite wall, all of which form the driveway borders, but Bill did a great job at keeping it safe and avoiding any and quot;oops.and quot; <br /> <br /> Before removing the dirt/sand, he suggested (since the driveway was not flat) I get some stone dust and granite chips (I think it's called crusher run) to prevent runoff when it rained. I agreed, and he had his truck driver pick up a load after dropping off the dirt. After removing the excess dirt, Bill spread the gravel with the backhoe/digger and used his tamping machine to pack it down. He told me he'd take about an hour to pack it down, but he was actually out there for at least two and maybe three hours, just making sure that it was really packed down firmly. <br /> <br /> He did this extra work for free, even though he hadn't included it in the original estimate. The only added charge was for the cost of the gravel material, which was exactly what he'd paid (he gave me the receipt from the supplier). In my opinion, he did much more than he had promised and never asked for a penny more. <br />"

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Whitman, MA

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
