"Timber Creek did a fantastic job pouring my 60x40 shop pad and came in at a much more reasonable price than some of the bigger companies in the area. The quality was top notch and the team was great with communication and professionalism. I will have them back in the future for a pond project. "

"Gordon I needed sills replacement and tuck pointing. I called Holton Brothers, and Thomas came out to give me a quote. He was very professional. After a couple days I had a quote and time frame. The crew was very professional and finished within the time frame. Thomas regularly supervised the project. My home and garage look amazing, and I highly recommend this company."

"The staff seem to be really good and professional people. The reason for my 2-star rating is that the work done simply didn't deliver on expectations of durability. There are sections of my driveway where nearly all of the seal coating came off in less than 9 months, so I am going to have to re-do the job myself. This is not what I had in mind when I paid over $1,100 (a fair price, if it would have lasted longer). I understand that the work isn't covered anymore, as I didn't report it until the thaw revealed so much was missing, and I'm not upset with Merit or their staff. I am simply very disappointed that it didn't even last 1 year. Images here: [*** Link removed ***] [*** Link removed ***]"

"Aaron drilled a hole in the foundation and flooded my home. No cancellation policy he Cost me 3 new sump pumps and 2 furnaces so far. Aaron abandoned the job and won’t call for when he is coming. Therefore his work has no insurance to cover the damages."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Wild Rose, WI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
