We are a small business. We were established in 2012. Most of business is from word of mouth. We specialize in all line of concrete work, fencing, sodding and landscaping.
"Starting with the estimate (which was comparable to the other estimates I got), Gibran spent more time discussing exactly what I wanted and needed: the old walk was narrow, did I want it widened; squared off or rounded out where it met the garage slab; raising the back walk slightly to eliminate the extra, shallow step at each end; and most usefully, how to work around the 100 year old catalpa, that had lifted and broken the old walk, between it and the house. We ended up adding a curve to the walk, just by the tree, giving it extra space without disturbing the existing tulip bed on the other side of the walk along the house. He and his crew worked quickly and neatly, and did a very nice job. The new walks meet the city sidewalk and garage slab evenly, the curves are smooth, the tree has room, the tulip bed and ivy along the house weren’t disturbed, and now it’s much less of a pain to shovel snow than it used to be! As a bonus, landscaping was not part of the contract, but Gibran found a source of black dirt for us, and when there was a delay (while waiting for the city inspector) after the forms were in place, he and his crew spread the dirt needed to regrade the yard for us, rather than just sit around. I’m very pleased with the work they did for us, enjoyed working with Gibran and his crew, and would definitely recommend 5 Star Concrete & Construction."

Then we came across Arrowhead. After reaching out to them, we received a phone call within a couple of hours and had an estimate completed by Jim within a few days. We had a general idea of what we wanted but Jim really blew us away by showing us several different options and photos of some their quality of work to help us visualize the plan. Within 1-2 business days, Jim had our estimate with a couple of different options and a 3D plan. Arrowhead was very reasonable in terms of price when comparing to other companies. After thinking things over, we found an idea of a unique outdoor linear fireplace from a website to go along with Jim’s plan for the patio and pavilion. We sent a photo of the fireplace over to Jim and within a day he had a price which was more reasonable than we expected. Jim also had some great ideas when it came to the design of the patio and pavilion. Work began as expected. Jim did an excellent job coordinating all of the different tradesmen to complete our project (patio installers, carpenters, electricians and plumber). Concrete deliveries FAQs
One yard of concrete covers a different area depending on its thickness. At four inches thick, one cubic yard of concrete covers about 81 square feet. If you're pouring at five inches thick, it covers around 65 square feet. For a six-inch thickness, expect it to cover approximately 54 square feet. The thicker your slab, the less area one yard of concrete will cover.
The shelf life of concrete depends on whether it's wet or dry. Ready-mixed concrete in its wet form lasts approximately 90 minutes to two hours after water is added, so it is essential to schedule your delivery carefully. Bags of dry concrete mix can last several months if stored properly in a cool, dry place. Moisture exposure can cause the cement to harden or lose strength over time.
An average concrete truck can hold between eight and 11 cubic yards of concrete, although some larger trucks can carry up to 15 cubic yards. However, road weight limits often restrict the amount they can carry, so most deliveries are around eight to 11 cubic yards. Knowing this helps you plan the number of truckloads you'll need for your project.
Pouring concrete doesn't take very long once the truck arrives. One cubic yard of concrete can be poured in about 10 minutes. Therefore, a full truck with 10 cubic yards of material would take approximately one hour and 40 minutes to empty. Keep in mind, though, that preparation and finishing work add time to the overall project.
Concrete sealing costs between $1,400 and $3,000, depending on the area's size and the type of sealer used. Sealing your concrete creates a protective barrier that blocks moisture and chemicals, helping to extend its lifespan and maintain its appearance.
