"I was missing a rail in my stairwell, I had a flat tire, wanted my air filter replaced and needed my Sony DVD player hooked up. David diagnosed the railing situation quckly and installed it where it was secured and I felt safe, he changed out my airfilter and hooked up my DVD for me. He gave me a reasonable bid to change out old wood and install new wood for the deck leading to my front door and even suggested repurposes lumber to save me some money. I am so grateful for David. I cant recommend him highly enough. I am a single woman and have had some bad experiences with sub contractors. Thank God for David. Ive found someone that can fix things and get the job done at a reasonable rate. He really cares about you. What else can I say?"

The person who did the actual repairs was very thorough. He did find an issue and corrected that problem, did an overall check of the rest of the roof, and corrected some other areas. Gary showed us the problem and explained what needed to be done. With approval, he proceeded to perform a tricky repair using a jack to prevent the window failing. He is one of those guys who measures twice & cuts once. But he is dead on the money with reframing and adding extra support in that system so I am confident that he not only fixed the problem; he has prevented any major downstream problems. Another unexpected problem happened when Gary was going to fix a leak in our porch roof. What looked like a caulking job has turned into removal of water damGe stucco & trim to replace. But also he had to repair a bad roofing job where they cut shingles way back from side of house & did not put flashing. We found our same shingles at Beacon Building and Gary reshingled the area which was about 1/3 rd of porch size. He was so careful to rebuild the valley and cut shingles to perfectly match the pattern along with replacing flashing; tar paper ; and moisture barrier. He does what I call a triage of the problems and discusses his plan of attack with me. Then he methodically goes to work . Even after a long day on the ladder or scaffold; he always cleans up the area never leaving a mess. He is a polite, amiable young man who I find to be good hard-working man who is honest as day is long. We still have work going on but I go to sleep Thankful for this fine Handyman and plan more jobs in future where I only want him to do…."

"I purchased a "half-day" coupon on Angie's List for $279 and had a list of 5 repair jobs that I figured would take about that long to complete which would make the price worthwhile.  The young repairman who came out (sorry I can't remember his name) did a great job of repairing my front door latch & loose strike plate, and repairing two loose outlets set in the wood siding of my kitchen island.  However, though he tried, he wasn't able to repair my patio umbrella, and said the ceiling fan's noise was an indication that it needed to be replaced rather than repaired.  As a result of only two items actually being repaired, I felt I'd overpaid since I didn't end up needing anyone for a "half day" after all.  That wasn't the fault of the repairman, who was very nice, but I will think twice about buying such an offer again.  It may be better to hire by the job or by the hour.
