"Heriberto and his team were amazing! He is honest, good with communication, reliable, and hard working. Heriberto does not just supervise, but works all day with his crew, only leaving the site to pick up materials. This is rare for any company these days. He offered several solutions to our difficult drainage problems, varying in price. We chose to have him dig 3 feet deep into our rock beds outside our pool enclosure, lowering everything as well as making room for rainwater to drain through our pipes to the front gutters. It was a big and difficult job. Discovering we had a couple feet of clay on our property, the crew had to also cut through a tangle of tree roots. To avoid cables and pipes, they had to work manually in one area. They didn't give up... worked from morning until evening, and even some weekend hours. As problems arose, they would offer solutions. They fixed an old sprinkler pipe that shattered, replaced sod for grassy areas that were damaged despite them being careful, and shopped around for the best prices on materials to save us money. To keep moisture away from our house, we also had them add another rock bed to one side of our house without one. I couldn't be happier with these guys. The job was completed in under two weeks and was under 10k. It was a lot of money to spend, but re-grading our yard would have been way higher. We haven't had a huge storm since the work was done to test the maximum capacity yet, but he told us to call him if there are any issues. I believe him. These were the best guys I have hired in years. I highly recommend them."

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Windermere, FL

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
