"They reached out quickly to me and discussed the job and arranged a time to come and give a estimate. Rob showed up on time and was knowledgeable and helpful. I accepted the estimate and arranged a time for the work to be done. Once again Rob showed up on time prepared to do the work. He complained the job in the amount of time given. The work that was done was well done and very professional. He was very helpful and easy to work with. Also he was able to answer any questions that I had. I would recommend them to do work for others and will be hiring them again for any future work that needs to be done. Thanks Rob. Appreciate the work you did."

"⚡ 200 AMP Upgrade Today we had TJF Electric upgrade us to a brand new 200-amp service, including a new meter, panel, grounding system, and properly organized wiring — all brought fully up to current code. The service was professional and thorough throughout with great communication. Everything was done in a timely manner and Tyler and Chris were clean, detailed and explained everything when the job was complete. "

"Friendly guy, but I found the response times very challenging having to wait several days to get an appointment for the initial job and then scheduling a follow up visit"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Windsor, CT

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
