"Jeff Weiher began the work on schedule. The only delays were due to the special railing he had ordered for us and it was installed as soon as it arrived. After the stairs leading to our lower patio were roughed in, we decided we needed them to turn in another direction. Jeff was able to do that and added a landing to accommodate. We're happy with his suggestions for deck material and railing. Very nice looking."

"Mike was very nice to work with through the planning process and his crew was professional and hardworking during the completion of the job. Both Mike and his crew worked with my wife and I to make sure that we had exactly what we wanted even if it meant a little more work for them."

"A Ranger rep called me back right away and showed up for a walk-through within a few days of my call. He was very polite and courteous and above all really seemed to know what he was doing. I have many many trees and didn't know what to tell him in terms of what to cut and how much, I could just say the yard was feeling closed-in. He could work with that, thankfully. He played back accurately that I wanted an open "park" feel and pointed out how he would achieve that on a few trees. We walked the property, he took notes and asked questions, I felt confident when he left. When the team returned (4 guys, as I remember), they were quite efficient and quite professional, and had the right equipment and skills to do the job. Each team member seemed to know what his job was - no standing around and no wasted movements. There was a lot of high-off-the-ground work; they zipped up and down in a flash. They didn't make any mess! They didn't play loud music! They didn't pee in the woods! They were professionals! Above all, I liked Ranger because they didn't need a lot of instruction on what to do - I hate it when they stand there waiting for instructions on something you don't know anything about. I didn't get other quotes and I have heard Ranger is more expensive, but it seemed pretty reasonable - four guys for a couple of hours doing difficult stuff, for a total of around $700. You're not getting someone off the street when you hire Ranger - everyone obviously had a lot of training. I would definitely go back to this company."

"Late in fall 2015 we got serious about transforming our small, boring patio. We had several contractors come out to give us bids, but we only "clicked" with one; Chad Vanderloop! He showed his passion and enthusiasm for transforming our back yard, listened carefully to what we wanted, and worked with one of his associates, Gary Lemke, to come up with a fantastic plan. In late spring of this year, Chad and his great crew did the hardscaping, Gary worked with us on the plants, and we did the planting and mulching ourselves. As you can see from the pictures, the results were spectacular! We are very, very pleased, and are so glad we found Chad to do this transformation, it far exceeded our expectations."

"Scott did a great job on fixing my multiple issues and even did some foundation crack repair that he saw while fixing our front stairs. Scott promptly got back to me when I inquired about getting this work done. I had reached out to 3 other masons and none of them got back to me. Would definitely have Scott come back for any future work I may need."

"I called for an estimate to do a patio project.  They were very prompt at setting up an appointment to look at our project area.  They took pictures and took notes.  After 2-3 weeks they called me back and set up a time to meet with them at their office.  At this time Joe and Christine gave us an excellent and well thought out drawing and proposal for our project.  Overall, we talked with 3 landscapers and got bids from two (3rd company wasn't very responsive at all).  After much thought my wife and myself decided to go with another company, only because the project was almost $2,000 dollars less and they are located in our town.  I wouldn't hesitate to call them again! <br />"

"Inherited a gas fireplace that had quit working and was the cause of a cold draft. Pat determined the causes of both problems and quickly fixed both. He was also a willing source of information on how best to regulate and utilize this heat source. <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Winneconne, WI

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
