"Our project was originally to start on November 13th and take 3-4 weeks. Due to 4 days of rain and other projects he had to finish, it was started later than planned. On the second day, Jamie texted to say someone’s car broke down on the way to our house and they’d be late. Later in the afternoon, we were advised the vehicle was in the shop so the crew couldn’t come. (There were 4 vehicles here the day before so we weren’t sure why one in the shop took the whole crew out.) They resumed work the following week. He asked in the beginning if we had any particular concerns and we said yes, two. One, our grandchildren, 2 of whom are toddlers, are here often so care would need to be taken to keep nails and hazardous garbage picked up when they leave for the day. Two, they would need to keep the gate to the pool closed and either cover the pool or be careful in that area. Most days, we walked outside to find the gate left open and nails and pieces/slivers of wood, paint chips and other garbage littering the yard and deck. We went out one day after they left and realized they had been using the pool deck to cut the material for the facia, siding and trim. On these days, the pool was littered with sawdust. We were past Thanksgiving and heading into Christmas and no end in sight. The gutters had yet to be done weeks after the painting was finished. We were wondering if this job was more involved than this company typically handles or if a good project manager was needed. We had to remind him of the same things multiple times because nothing was written down. There is paint on the front porch rails, paint on the pool deck and on the outside of the screened porch. There’s overspray everywhere. We did have a walkthrough, and they did take care of the things we pointed out. At the same time, as the months have passed, we continue to find areas that need touch up. We will need to purchase paint and must touch things up ourselves. The biggest problem we had ended up being with the way the drip edge along the roof line was handled. Four months prior (in August) we had our roof replaced including new drip edge. We were assured that when replacing the facia that the drip edge would be fine. If there were spots that needed to be touched up, they would handle it. By the time the work was done, the drip edge was in bad condition with warps and bends to the point that we insisted it be replaced. At first, Encompass pushed back stating that the drip edge had been installed incorrectly. However, the the roof and drip edge were installed correctly by a professional roofer but damaged during the facia replacement. Encompass did consult with a roofer who told them that there should be no problem replacing the drip edge, so they proceeded to do so. Their work in replacing the original drip edge was better than they way they originally left it, but it was far from the condition it was after our roof was replaced. One of the reasons the drip edge was so important to us is that we just had bats removed from the attic and wanted to have the drip edge prevent that from happening again. In addition, after spending over $58,000 on our house, we weren’t happy with the finish of the drip edge. Since then, we’ve started getting estimates on what it would cost us to have the drip edge properly replaced. So far, we’ve received an estimate of $19,000 for the work. Because there is so much of it that has been damaged, it would cost more to cut and replace only the damaged parts and leave the few places that are not damaged than to replace all of it. We are also seeing wasps go under the drip edge, which was not happening prior to the work Encompass performed. After spending over $58,000 on the work, we are extremely unhappy to be looking at numbers this large to ultimately finish the work."

Trip Charges are included in the price per job. I do give FREE estimates on all jobs with the exception of " Insurance Estimate Jobs". For any job that is requiring an estimate for the insurance company. There will be a charge of $25.00 per estimate. IF I am awarded the job, this $25.00 will be deducted off of your final price. Therefore making it a FREE estimate. Unfortunately I've given FREE estimates in the past for these jobs, only to have the homeowner ONLY use me long enough to get the money from the insurance company & I never hear from them again. This is the only way I can see to keep it honest. There are many " handyman" companies out there today, but I believe that one of the things that sets me apart from them, is I have actually been in the industry for over 25yrs. This is not new to me. Also, I believe in 'honesty'. If you ask me to quote you for a job, that I am NOT completely comfortable with, I will be honest & tell you I'm not skilled in that area. But I will be happy to help you find someone who is, & someone you can trust, @ NO Charge to you. I do all the work myself, I'm not an owner that goes out, gives you an estimate & then sends a crew of men to do the job. I do it myself. I rarely have the need to use an outside "subcontractor". If I do have that need, you will know first.

Vinyl siding is one of the most affordable options homeowners can choose for quality exterior materials. It offers excellent durability and enhances your home's curb appeal. Compared to alternative siding options like aluminum, vinyl siding is more budget-friendly. It's easy to install, performs well over time, and maintains its color and structure for years.
To estimate how much vinyl siding you'll need, start by measuring the exterior dimensions of your home. Calculate the square footage of each wall by multiplying its length by its height. Don't forget to subtract the areas taken up by windows and doors. Add up the square footage of all the walls to determine the total amount of siding material you'll require.
Yes, vinyl siding is easy to maintain and only requires routine care. It's resistant to chips, pests, and weather damage when properly cleaned. To keep your siding looking its best, clean it annually—either by yourself or by hiring a professional. Pressure washing costs between $210 and $450. A professional vinyl cleaning service can also inspect your siding to ensure it stays in excellent condition for years to come.
Painting vinyl siding can give your home's exterior a fresh look temporarily, but it's not a permanent fix. If you decide to paint, make sure to use paint specifically designed for vinyl siding to ensure it adheres properly. Avoid dark colors, as they can absorb more heat and cause the siding to warp. Keep in mind that painting your vinyl siding may void any existing warranties.
Vinyl siding lasts between 20 and 60 years when installed correctly and maintained consistently. Its long lifespan results from its durable composition and resistance to harsh weather conditions. Regular upkeep, proper installation, and prompt repairs contribute to its longevity. This enduring performance offers homeowners long-term value and a reliable exterior finish that sustains curb appeal over the years.
