"We chose SureGuard even though we had better quotes from other companies because we were sold on promise that work would be completed by their crews and supervised by their foreman daily. We loved the idea of hiring a local business that uses their own crews. It was obvious once work began that SureGuard was subcontracting work to other companies, and they did not send their foreman with these crews. The paint crew arrived and didn’t seem to have a complete picture of the work to be performed. They were difficult to communicate with and we had questions about the quality of their workmanship. I ended up having to place calls with their office to address my concern. To SureGuards credit, they did send out someone the following morning and my concerns were addressed. The work did turn out ok in the end, however the process was stressful. Had we known they were going to sub out the work we would have gone with the other bids. I contacted Kotch's windows several months ago along with 3 other local window replacement firms.  Mike was by far the most professional, and took the time to explain the difference in the R values and insulated values.  I decided to go with the Sunshine brand.  Due to the special shape window, they had to be ordered.

Once the window came in, Mike had his install group replace the window.  They were on time, very professional and polite.  They ran into an unexpected problem with deteriorated wood trim and they spent extra time to redo the flashing for the proper way to install the window.

I was very pleased with the outcome, and would recommend Kotch's to other prospective homeowners that need replacement windows.
