We interviewed several contractors before choosing David and accepting his bid. His crew built a screened in porch and a deck on our sloping wooded lot.  <br /> <br /></p> <p>The quality of the work is excellent --several friends and family members who are in building were just floored at the workmanship. Part of his success is that his crew is employed by him full time -- they worked well together and showed pride in the work they did for us. Some of workers even took pictures of the final product and best of all, they really liked our dog and let her hang out with them. <br /> <br /></p> <p>David worked with us on the design of the porch before construction and kept us informed all the way through the process. He advised us when we purchased extra features we wanted and arranged for an excellent electrician, who we have continued to use for other projects. I have recommended him to other friends and neighbors, who want to add on to their houses. </p> <br />"

"The two-man crew arrived a few days after I gave the go-ahead (a patio had to be completed first) and the weather had cleared (that took a week). The first day of work was to remove the old fence, the second day to mark out the new fence lines and to sink the new posts with concrete bases. (Some of the old fence posts were just in the ground with no concrete.) The third day was spent installing the fence and clearing up the debris. The work was done to a high standard -- the posts were plumb and in line, the fence pickets were trimmed to the ground clearance I wanted and straight, the lattice work was done well and everything was square and level. The only quibbles I had were about the gate: first, it was not exactly where I wanted it, but that was due to my not specifying it clearly enough. My drawing for the fence did not show the gate, and my on-site instruction was unclear. Second, the gate did not lock from the inside of the fence, a requirement I assumed would be met. When I let the salesperson know about the lock, a bolt was installed on the inside the next morning. <br /> All told, I am very satisfied with the result."

"Their work has always been "top-notch." Over the last 25 years, they replaced the tile twice, repaired the coping stones when needed, and last summer installed all new modern coping stones. This spring they are scheduled to re-plaster the pool for the second time in 25 years. They also assist with deck renovation by applying the mastic between the coping and surrounding pool deck. We are always pleased with results of their work. They provide the cost of the work upfront and always stick to the agreed price. Scheduling is tricky as it depends on the weather but once they begin the work, they stick with it until it is done without much downtime for use of the pool."

"The company followed through on everything promised. They showed up when they said they would, provided an estimate within a timely manner, and completed the work as scheduled. We did not need an entire fence - only two sections adjacent to the neighbors' fences. We dealt with three companies trying to get estimates and they were the only one who responded as promised and did the work professionally and appropriately. . <br />"

"No sooner were the pool contractors done when the Blue Ridge Fencing crew showed up to start the pool fencing. They did the job quickly and beautifully! We actually put the pool in the pasture adjacent to our yard. So after fencing the pool they then replaced 300 feet of the horse fence so that the pool became part of the yard. They showed up early every day and finished the job in less than a week. After completion, I needed to modify a gate to prevent a dog escape from the new yard. They returned quickly and resolved the problem for me I have learned that often the low bidder is not very detailed in the proposal. When I confronted the other bidder with some questions it was clear he was not going to get my job done according to my needs either in terms of time or quality. Blue Ridge does quality work and does it in a timely manner. I highly recommend them. <br /> <br /> I have since had additional work done and continue to rave about the service they provide."

"We have used this contractor several times in the past and his service has recently been declining. This last time we were really disappointed. He quoted a price for the above work and completed about 75% of it. We paid him in full and then he did not come back. When we asked him when he was planning on finishing the work he was unresponsive. When we finally got in touch with him he said he was booked up for the next week and wouldn't be able to finish the work.  (He left a room unpainted, caulking incomplete, paint tape and tools out, and didn't power wash a door. We also had paint splatters from some painting that he did complete on a darker colored wall.) As I said before, he was usually very professional so this time we were disappointed. <br />"
