"Last year Northland Fence installed a tan vinyl privacy fence for my 1 acre lot, replacing a rotted cedar fence that was falling down. I was really impressed by the post design as a means to anchor the fencing without future rotting issues, and it saved lots of installation time versus the older cement process. This was a huge fence, and they completed in two days of work, and the fence looks great! Fast forward one year later and strong winds this year have knocked over 6 x 30-foot trees from my neighbor's yard into my yard, damaging the fence in multiple places, bending posts and breaking side panels. Tim came by to perform the repair last week and the fence is completely restored to previous condition in about 2-3 hours of work. You could not tell that so much damage had occurred except for some cleaning that I need to do. While onsite, Tim also addressed some sag in installed fence doors with very well-built diagonal braces and adjusted the doors to being square. He was polite, professional, and delivered great results - represents the Northland Fence brand well. Strongly endorse the fence solutions from Northland. "Everything went great. I'd highly recommend A&M. I reached out to A&M to quote replacement of the section of wire that I had most problems with. He responded quickly with a quote. I normally would have tried to do it myself, but his price was very competitive. After pricing out how much it would be to rent an edger, buy 500 ft of 14 ga professional wire for pet fences and then figuring the hassle, it was a pretty easy decision. I called around to other invisible fence installers and they were multiple times more expensive, even including a ~$200 charge just to come out and check the system (which I didn't need, as I new it was working). I had also tried purchasing and using two pet fence break detectors in the past and had limited luck. I'm hoping that I can now just sell them and use this guy in the future. Curt (of A&M) arranged to have Gopher 1 out there the day before to mark the site- I didn't have to do anything with that. We worked out a time that he could come out to do the work that worked for my schedule. He ended slightly early on his earlier jobs so he texted me that he was able to come out ahead of time. He was also nice enough not to ring the door bell and wake my 5 week old son. He pounded the job out quickly and without any mess- installing the 14 ga wire. He also worked with me for a few special needs I had in running the line- very reasonable guy. He finished by verifying for me that the new line worked. He definitely knew his stuff and seemed to stand behind his work. I'd hire him again- super easy to work with."

I began calling companies in March in anticipation of the busy season, and some other companies wouldn't even return my messages. The guys did a great job. "The saleperson met with us quickly after we asked for an estimate.  She provided a couple of different options as well as pictures of the different fencing.  She was able to provide on the spot pricing.  The pricing was pretty consistent with the others we had quoted and we chose artistic fence because their nicer option was 300 cheaper than the competition.  After scheduling out 3 weeks we were able to make a couple of changes to our original estimate.  The gentlemen that worked on the fence worked diligently and professionally.  It was completed in 3 days.  The only constructive comment I will make is they don't tell you that the dirt accumulated from digging the post holes is your responsibility.  We didn't ask in the first place, but it would have been nice to know that we had some work ahead of us that isn't included in the job.  The gentleman was very good about asking where to put the dirt/clay until I could get to it.  Overall, price was good, fence looks great, and no issues. <br />"

"It went very well!  First - Jim, wife Cindy, and son, Derek all came to look at the project and provide ideas and we instantly connected. Jim sent the estimate via email and after reviewing other input I decided to hire Outdoor Solutions. I wanted the project to be done ASAP to prevent my new dog from running across the pool cover and Jim said that the railing could be built in-house and installed the following week. The redwood deck is big -- almost 60 long and about 25 feet wide with 3 gate areas -- 2 standard and 1 double. To ensure that the double gates did not sage, Derek installed wheels under the gates to ensure that they open easily and do not sag. The railing was attached to the side of the pool deck -- 2X4 on top edge and bottom edge with 1X1 spindles - supported by posts every 8 feet. In addition there were 2 large bins and a cabinet for for equipment that were situated on a platform attached to the deck, which they removed and set back from the deck at my request. Derek and Shawn finished the installation in one day and the deck was transformed .  Both were very pleasant and willing to do whatever it took to meet my expectations.  After completion I expected to write a check and asked if Derek had the invoice with him - but he said that Jim would send it via email - which he did. It was all done remotely "on a handshake" - and worked out very well. How often does that happen today? It was refreshing. <br />"

"Bottom line: the fence is nice and as far as I can tell is well installed. If you are looking for care and attention to detail, and quality customer service, however, this is not the company I would recommend. I picked them based on mostly positive reviews, price being comparable to my other bid, and they could do the work sooner. I think the fence itself is nice. My complaint is regarding a lack of attention to detail, and customer service mediocre at best. The contract specified that the dirt from the post holes would be placed in one spot (so I could put it where I wanted). Instead, without asking me, they spread it around my garden. The problem is that the soil is heavy clay and was laid across perennials that can't grow through it. Worse, it was put on some of my neighbor's garden as well. Also, they did not fill the holes from the previous fence posts. For the amount of money paid, I would expect much better attention to detail. This work was done in late fall, and I (and my neighbor) found these problems in early spring, when we went out to start working in the garden. The response I got when I told the company was a questioning of why I hadn't pointed it out earlier, rather than an apology and acknowledgement that the fault was not mine but theirs. They did send the work crew out eventually. This is how I experienced them: first they just walked in the yard with their shovel without knocking on my door; when I went out to talk to them, their reaction was clear: this is a waste of our time; they left again without talking to me; I went outside and wondered if they were done, since some post holes were still unfilled and there had been little attempt to remove the clay soil from the gardens. But they never came back so I deduced that was the end of it. I was just sorely disappointed with the attitude, and especially of the crew."
