"Dan was a great contractor. He was fair and honest from the beginning with the estimate, the scheduling, updates as to when he was going to start the job and through the whole process of tearing out concrete and pouring. Everything was spelled out on the estimate and in writing. Any extras he might have to do was in there so there would be no surprises when he was doing the job. Ended up we need a lot of extras but we knew cost and were no surprises when we got the bill. He was on the job everyday so no contract employees to deal with. If he had questions about what we wanted he asked and we worked out the details. We made some changes on the fly and he was able to do them. We had bad drainage pipes and he needed to put on new ones and we knew the cost before hand. So it was easy to tell him go ahead because Dan knew if it was not done he would be back in couple years to fix the concrete again because the base would fail due to water under it that is the homeowners responsibility to do. He ended up adding 190 feet of drain tile we did not think we were going to need when we started the project but we ended up needing it because our drive collects all our water and the neighbors yard water. The driveway actually flooded overnight as he was removing the old concrete so it need all the drain tile to make it last. I have to say our yard has never been drier. We made the right call. He also recommended how we should do our sidewalk to eliminate steps and make it look great. We are so happy with Dan’s job that we recommend him for anybody wanting new concrete. He is a great guy and he is an honest man. We would have him work here again if we need more concrete poured. Give him a call. You will not be disappointed in his work."

"This was a very positive process. TJ provided me with material options to consider before we walked the property. He made a few recommendations regarding the size and material, and we proceeded to schedule the work. His crews came in and removed about 7 truckloads of debris from the back and put in the patio and new front walk. I especially like the recommendation to extend the walkway design up the steps to the front door. They even seeded grass in the areas where the garden had been removed that the patio didn't cover. They worked around other contractors I had there painting the interior of the house. I was advised on how to care for the surface. Everyone who has seen it (especially the before and after pictures) comments on how great it looks. This work was done 6 months ago, and it has held up well so far this winter."

The stones for the front wall of our house were carefully removed and necessary work conducted before replacing stone with new mortar. End result is beautiful. We also used Koontz to replace front stone steps with surrounding brick walls. Here too, they first took care and attention to fix the very important foundational problems. Koontz Construction provides quality service at a fair price and is focused on both form and function."
