"Anthony and his team installed a porch roof on my home for 1500 dollars. He was kind and courteous. They got the job done very timely and efficiently. They cleaned up their work perfectly and made the whole process very easy for me. I would strongly recommend them for anything not just bc of their impeccable workmanship but bc of Anthony’s warm and positive attitude."

"I was very pleased with the quality of the materials and the work. The only problem I have is they did not add any extra ventilation over the lower roof (garage). I has specifically asked the project manager to ensure they added ample ventilation and she ensured me they would. At the end of the installation I noticed they didn't add any vents. When I raised the question why it was not added, they replied with "there is sufficient ventilation for that size of roof...this has the power vent installed". When I look around the houses in my neighborhood...they all had an extra vent to allow the heat to escape near the top of the roof."

"ICP roofing did a great job replacing my roof last summer! Mike was very professional, polite and easy to work with. He explained to me how the replacement process would go and exceeded all expectations I had. Their crew was fast efficient and exercised extreme care throughout the whole process. Cost was very reasonable too. I would recommend these guys over any other roofing company in the burgh."

"Installed my roof 3 years ago, did a great job for a fair price. Excellent crew. I needed a re-inspection of the roof for a refi I am doing. Very couteous representative came within days, accomplished the inspection and delivered what I needed. Prior to the roof I also installed Gutter Helmets which also work like a charm. Great people to do business with."

"From my first interaction with Robert and through the whole repair process, I could not have been more pleased. He was timely, responsive, and the work he and his crew did was excellent, leaving my home just as clean when they left. There was no plaster dust! They repaired several places where roof leaks had caused the plaster to collapse, as well as a couple other plaster issues in my 100-year-old home. AND he was reasonably priced. I highly recommend Robert Dell'Aquila Plastering!"

"They quoted a very reasonable price for the work needed and were able to reconnect the one siding panel while there. They also check and secured when possible other loose panels. I won't hesitate to call them for additional outside work."

"I had interviewed 2 other roofers but these guys impressed me. The actual work was even better! I’m expecting to be dry for the rest of my life. They left and the only sign that they had been here was the nicest roof in the neighborhood. You need these guys!"

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Bethel Park, PA

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
