"Customer service is the best. The guys came out same day and installed my ring video doorbell. I couldn’t be happier. I will hire them again to install ceiling light fixtures and all other small electrical projects."

"Good communication about the appointments, pricing, and showed up when they said they would. These guys stayed until the job was done! Encountered lots of issues, but kept at it until fixture installed properly. Checked their work. Cleaned up. Could have helped a bit more where they had to go through the wall, Left us with a bit of construction to replace the sheetrock, but again, they are plumbers! Price was higher than some, but they were up front about pricing."

Customers say: Quick response

"Derek and the folks at VHEC saved our Christmas! We lost power very suddenly during the night and next morning Duke Energy said we had to have our meter box replaced. I got VHEC’s name from the Angi app. Derek returned my call immediately and understanding the urgency of the situation he swung into action! They obtained the parts, replaced the box, coordinated all the necessary county permits and inspections and had my box ready for Duke to restore the power by 3pm. Getting all that completed in 5-hours during the week of Christmas was nothing short of a miracle. The fact that they are competent, prompt, have great follow through and are good people makes working with them even better. Don’t hesitate to call Derek and VHEC!"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Burlington, NC

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
