"I found them on Angie's List. They came out promptly. It took the probably three weeks from start to finish and another week to do the touch-up work that I requested. When I called originally, the owner called me back on the weekend. He sent his foreman out to meet me the following week. He came out and we looked over the plans. They were excellent. They were timely and friendly. They were courteous and professional. They cleaned up on a daily basis after they did their work. Their concern was the total satisfaction of the customer. The crew matched the expectations of the foreman. The foreman matched my expectations. I was thrilled. They are fantastic. They were great."

"It was a fortunate day for us when we found Mr. Viola on Angie's List. Our large wooden screened in porch was in terrible shape due to rot, neglect, and boring bees. The two beams supporting it had rotted and sunk into the ground. Darrell was able to jack up the porch and replace the beams with new treated lumber. He built new sets of stairs for the two doorways. The porch roof had leaked, ruining a section of tongue and groove ceiling boards. Similar boards were not available from local lumber yards, so Darrell made them himself. He also replaced all of the screens. Any boards or beams that were rotten, he replaced. The porch looks terrific! Darrell is very reliable. We needed the job done by a certain date for insurance purposes and he worked hard to meet that deadline. He is very creative and did his best to keep the cost of the job reasonable. All of his work is very professional. He was a pleasure to work with, and we hope to use his services again when we remodel a bathroom. <br />"

"We live in a 1880's city home with stone foundation that has experienced basement flooding in the past. With a recent rainstorm we had a few inches of water and decided it was time to do something about it. Access basement systems was recommended by a number of friends. Michael is extremely nice and professional and gave us an estimate for a french drain system. They were able to come the next week and finished everything up in just a few days! Overall our experience was very positive."

"I called RDS PAVING & SEALCOATING for an estimate to spray seal my driveway.  Mr. Reedy was at my house in a timely manner to measure and calculate the cost.  I received the estimate through email.  I called to accept the proposal and scheduled an appointment.  Work was done by the end of the week and while we were on vacation. Very happy with staff and service provided!  We will use them again in the future. <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Enola, PA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
