"If I could James (the owner) ZERO stars I would. Contacted him through home warranty service for an emergency plumbing repair as the expert plumber who could scope the line and detect the location of the leak that was causing sewer water to run under several floors in the house. He did not scope the line. Instead he said we had to demolish the wall where he expected the leak to be, then he would return. We demolished all walls where he said it would be and texted him pictures in the wall. He was supposed to return on Saturday morning. Then it became sometime Saturday. Then it became Sat or Sun. Meanwhile, water was still destroying more and more of the house. Then he ignored all calls and texts. (None were rude!) On Monday, we were finally able to contact him and he said he no longer wanted to do the repair. We lost a several days trying to stop sewer water from infiltrating our home. This is absolutely disgusting and all he did was complain when he first arrived that he wouldn't get paid enough to fix the problem. Definitely avoid this company!"

"I had called Tropical Septic and Plumbing [9468 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32820] to check a slow draining sink. The friendly receptionist said a service call is $60 with an additional $60/hr. every half hour after. They'd have a technician here within 48 hours who would call me before coming. The tech showed up early and never called. He was courteous, cleaned up after himself and was here about an hour. When I got the invoice, it said: “Ran snake from under kitchen sink and cleared drain. $250.” I called Tropical, since that was a much higher cost than I had expected. The person Ido talked to before told me there’s a flat rate of $250 if the tech has to “snake” a drain, although in that case they do waive the $60 service fee. She apologized for not relaying that information to me when I first called. Within a week, although not as bad as before I noticed the same drain backing up. Thinking this may be covered under the original call, I called Tropical but was told they “can’t guarantee drains.” If they send out a technician, I’d be charged for a service call ($60). The amount would be higher if the tech had to use the snake. She added they could “maybe” give me a break, but no guarantees. Bottom line: I was not given the full cost information to begin with, and when the repair was ineffective I was told I’d have to pay more for them to return."

"I have described the recent experience with Dunstan in the box provided above.  The technician arrived a little late than scheduled, but on the same day I called.  He greeted me, and went straight to work on the job at hand.  We called because the disposal we had been using was making an unusual noise and we had determined that something was jammed in between the floor of the unit and the wall.  Dunstan made a quick assessment, and reported that the disposal had not been installed correctly initially, and that he was surprised we had not had more leaks than the one we had already experienced.  I told him to install a new unit, which he had brought along as a contingency, and he set to work installing the new unit.  In a fairly short period of time the new disposal was installed, and the technician called me in to the kitchen to verify it was working properly and to my satisfaction.  I paid the price for labor and for the disposal itself, which I found to be reasonable."
