It all started in 1964 when firefighter, Leroy (Bud) Woodruff, began learning the sheet metal trade while working with Sweets Sheet Metal in Wilmette, IL. In 1969, while still employed full-time at the Winnetka Fire Department, he took his passion further and began contracting business from his garage. He enlisted his three sons in the family business and put them to work climbing ladders and learning the trade. With his meticulous attention to detail, the company continued to grow and Bud furthered his experiences while working on some of the North Shore's finest homes. In 1984, Bud moved his business out of the garage and to his first shop in Glenview, IL, and later bought his first building in Lake Bluff, IL. He retired from the fire department in 1989 and began working for his small business full-time. To continue the legacy Bud started, his three sons took over the business and began expanding their expertise to include a wide range of exterior construction applications.

"On December 4th the wind blew my rubber flat roof off the addition to my home. Phil, the owner, was at my house the next morning before I left for work to look at the damage. His crew came a couple hours later to tarp it until they could replace it. Saturday morning they were there early and finished it. Phil kept in communication with me the entire time explaining everything they were doing. I was completely freaked out when it happened and he really calmed me down. I will be using them again for the main house and have already told a friend about them. Phil is a super friendly guy and you could tell he cares about his clients. If you are looking for roof repair. This is the guy to do it. His pricing was very reasonable considering this was an emergency,"

It's not easy finding and deciding on a contractor for most things. Mariusz brought to the table a straight forward approach as to what he could provide and that, in the end, everything was my call with no pressure. With a price in line with local averages, I could have asked for nothing more. *UPDATE* 2023: I once again had Mariusz and his team to my home for a project, this time being the siding. And once again, the result was PERFECT. The process of working with insurance took years but Holda Construction was extremely patient and didn't push the project. A call every couple weeks to see how I was and to let me know he was always ready when I was couldn't have been better. Mariusz made multiple trips to the house to help the process move along and was instrumental in getting us to where we are today. I would highly recommend taking Mariusz's advice on the things that could really change how you see your home. One major recommendation was to not simply side up to the windows but to put in BEAUTIFUL window borders that not only take the look of the finished project up 10 notches but sealed the home better than anything. The team Mariusz sent could not have been better. They tolerated an overwhelming amount of questions from me and walked me through everything that was being done. Not only did they finish the job but went above and beyond when we discovered 6 leaking, previously installed windows by someone else, were not installed nor sealed properly. They immediately removed the windows from my home and reinstalled them correctly and did so happily. THIS WAS NOT THEIR JOB! The team simply wanted to do the right thing and fixed someone else's mistakes so that my home could be at 100%! Here we are, 2 weeks later, and my home feels BRAND NEW. Whether it's siding, windows, roofing, or everything in-between, look for further than HOLDA CONSTRUCTION. I can not recommend Mariusz and his team enough. THANK YOU!"
