"I met Al Guevara when my wife and I were dealing with a very stressful home ownership related event. A few days prior to Alâ s arrival, a tree had fallen on our roof and rolled onto the deck. There were five different puncture holes straight through and on into our attic. A temporary repair was made the next day. However, a long-term solution was required. I called our previous roofing contractor and was told he had shut down the operation until Spring, 2024. My wife researched and came up with a short list of the highest rated, well reviewed local roofing companies. MGS Construction was at the top of her list so I started there. Another call would not be necessary. Al visited us the day I made the call and by the end of his visit we signed his proposal/estimate. A complete roof replacement (GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, ice and water shield, caps, ridge vents, flashing, etc.) â along with a new 40â seamless gutter â was scheduled with work to begin in one week! And no deposit was required. It snowed the evening prior to the (large) crewâ s arrival and it had no impact on the project. The crew used leaf blowers to remove snow from the roof! I met the foreman, Josh, the morning that the work began. In addition to overseeing the many goings on with the well-oiled machine of a crew, Josh took the time and had the patience to answer questions I had during the course of the day. And believe me, there were more than a few! Clean-up was very thorough. MGS will be returning in the spring to repair the damage the tree did to our deck and to do work on the exterior of our home unrelated to the tree damage."

His presentation about the company and how they do their work was impressive and Jose was very professional. The meeting included a video that Jose shot while on our roof in which he explained not just the issues that were found but WHY the work was needed. He patiently answered all our questions and never pressured us into agreeing to anything. It's our money, it's our decision, he said. After meeting with Jose, we didn't hesitate to sign a contract immediately to get the work done. One of the biggest factors in signing was that the folks who do the work are company employees, not contractors. Fast forward a few weeks later and Paul Camarro and his crew showed up at the house on time and ready to work. When they were done, Paul showed us photos of the completed repair work, so I knew they delivered as promised. Jose is in the process of making a follow-up appointment so that he can inspect the job and make sure that we are completely satisfied. From Cat Vaillancourt and Mary Kay Macfarlane in the office to Jose to Paul, every person we dealt with at Vaillancourt was fantastic and professional. "The service and work that Beantown provided was outstanding! From the very prompt and efficient estimate by Jim to the completion of the work from the workers everything was outstanding. Derick the project manager and his team with Tony, and others were here early on the day the work started and worked extremely hard the entire time they were here. When they left, the room was all cleaned up and it was like they were never here, except for the outstanding job on the installation of new skylights! They did a tremendous job, and they removed the old skylights that were leaking and installed the correct skylights for the pitch of our roof. We are extremely pleased with how the work was performed and how nice they now look. Previously the trim on the inside was all damaged from the leaking and continued to leak and show water stains. They repaired the trim also and now it looks fabulous and does not leak at all! It doesn't even look as if there is glass in the skylights as they are so clean and installed correctly! What an outstanding job Beantown did in a very timely and efficient time frame. The job was completed within 3 hours! We have already gotten an additional estimate for our main bathroom shower and will definately be proceeding with more work from Beantown. These guys and this company are top notch contractors and so easy and professional to deal with (and reasonably priced too)!"

"On Top Roofing was great. Tim came to quote the work and asked what I wanted and offered excellent suggestions. He wanted to vent two bathroom fans out through the roof to reduce the moisture buildup in the attic. No other roofer even mentioned it. He also wanted to replace all drip edges and re-led the chimney. Several others wanted to reuse the exiting drip edges and led. Given all that his price was still very good. The job took two days. His crew was efficient and the roof looks great. There was a supervisor (Mike) on the job the entire time who ensured everything went well. They had one guy who did nothing but clean up constantly. So the yard and surrounding area was always clean. When they left they swept, rakes and picked up everything. Very professional and courteous team in the field and in the office (thanks Kelsey). All this and a 10 year workmanship warranty!!!"

"We have been in our home for 21 years and our roof needed to be replaced. I did my due diligence and received 4 quotes from HomeAdvisor recommended roofers (Asphalt shingles not metal since we will be downsizing in 2-5 years max.) A neighbor had moved in last year and had their roof done by Exteriors Unlimited, LLC. I decided to get a 5th quote. I received quotes from 5 GAF Certified roofing companies. Four of them ranged from $13,800 to $18,000 - all with very similar terms and warranties, with some variation on the cost of replacing plywood, if necessary. Several of them gave estimates of Good, Better, and Best. The difference of Best costing not very much more, and includes a netter roof ridge vent and upgraded breathable shield layer. They all included releading the chimney, replacing the second story bathroom vent, and full 8 in edge stripping. The other minor difference was the length of the labor warranty. Ironically the most expensive quote had the shortest (5 yr) labor warranty. Most were 10 years. The latest generation of GAF HDZ shingles has a 50 yr warranty and a 130 mph wind rating. (compared with 20-25 yr with asphalt shingles 15-20 yrs ago.) By far Exteriors Unlimited came in at $11,100 with the same terms. In addition, the work was professional, Chad was great to work with, and our 2400 sq ft home was done in one day (7:30 AM to 4:30 PM). When done, clean-up was exceptional. I think our Eagle-Eye 12 yr old grandson found only 1 nail and no other rubbish. Very Highly Recommend!"
