"Island Concrete LLC installed a concrete driveway for me quickly (one day) and at an affordable price. The owner, Island, was present from start to finish to supervise and take part in the job. This was very reassuring."

"Garret provided a fast quote for my project which was very reasonably priced. He took time to answer my questions with fast turnaround for responses. His availability was also very quick, and I wanted my project done as soon as possible to meet other deadlines. Garret and Larry showed up on time and were very courteous and professional, and respectful of my property in their prep work and during the concrete pour. They both answered my questions and explained the project details, along with follow-up that was required. I highly recommend Northwest Concrete Cutting for anyone needing a concrete pour."

"This is the 2nd time The good folks at Slabjack have done work for me. Due to erosion, I had a void under my driveway that needed to be filled. I received a fair estimate and scheduled the project a couple of weeks later. Communication during the process was excellent! The crew came out on schedule and completed the work in about an hour. Very happy with the result!"

"I hired Bodine for a basement interior drain installation and floor seal for my triplex. If we'd only done the basement drain, this would be an A review. We had some communication breakdowns, but the on-site staff was impeccably neat, courteous, and (as a non-expert), the work looked solid and was done in a timely fashion. They also kindly drilled weepholes at no charge. <br /> Our experience for the floor sealing, unfortunately, was one of the worst contracting experiences I’ve ever had in my life. <br /> * Bodine was schedule to seal my basement flooring, using a product that rendered the entire triplex effectively uninhabitable due to the horrible, nasty fumes. They at no point checked if anyone was actually living in the house, or to notify me that it would not be healthy or safe to be sleeping there so I could make advance arrangements to sleep elsewhere. Their staff apparently did not make a connection between seeing me every morning at 7:30 AM and the fact that I actually lived there. <br /> When I came home late at night, I was shocked by and scared the density of the fumes in the air upstairs. But I had nowhere else to go at that point, so I just had to open some windows and hoped for the best. <br /> * The triplex Bodine worked in is in a high-crime area of Capitol Hill, and a building that was completely burglarized and ransacked last fall. They left a single basement window completely wide open overnight without checking, through which any one of the hundreds of neighborhood transients could have walked into the house. They put in no ventilation fan whatsoever until I called them up, read him the riot act, and he immediately installed one. <br /> * Despite a construction crew visibly working in the house every single day (letting the crew into and out of the house), Bodine did not communicate to us in advance that they were performing work that would leave the air so unbreathable that our crew absolutely refused to enter the house out of health concerns <br /> Bodine’s lack of communication resulted in our losing two full days worth of work and blowing our contractor and sub schedule. Had we known this, we would never have scheduled this work with Steve’s company while a construction crew was trying to finish up a construction project and get out. <br /> * And when they needed to return the next day to finish, they indeed let themselves into through that same security-risk window they left open - triggering a monitored security alarm system. <br /> The e-mails from the company staff (excepting Tee, the awesome admin assistant) were generally indecipherable during this high-stress experience. We're talking voice dictation gibberish. Let me quote an example: and quot; How you like yeah the smell will be a little strong for the first couple hours day or so to come in tomorrow put another very light coat on to some kind of weak areas and just leave a couple windows and doors new windows still at letterand quot;. <br /> To me, the lack of awareness of the consequences of the chemical products they use for their customers was really the most damning part of the experience. When I asked the crew member who called me when it would be truly safe to enter my own home again - he literally said he didn't know and couldn't actually even answer. When I allow a contractor to install toxic chemicals into my home, there is a degree of trust that they are going to take appropriate steps to manage their impact on my home. In this case, this trust was clearly misplaced. <br /> While I have substantial further moisture mitigation work that needs to be done on the house, and had planned to hire Bodine to complete it, I’m afraid they’ve lost the remainder of my business. <br /> If I’m shelling out the money, I want a contractor who understands that they’re here first and foremost to solve the needs of human clients — they’re not just here to work on a house and ignore the owner’s needs. <br />"

"Tony was super responsive right off the bat after I left a message about our situation. He was very honest, saying that our small project would cost us much more since the job was, in fact, so small. He came by when he was in the area to actually take a look at our issue. Again, he was honest in telling us that adding concrete to the whole side of the garage if we were not going to use it was a waste of money. He, instead, said that he could just replace the original slab (that was probably 20+ years old, but we don't know for sure), and pour the concrete properly. He also said that he would anchor it to the garage foundation, close the gap between it and the driveway, stabilize and level it to the driveway/garage, and increase the overall size of the platform. He gave me an estimate before he left that day; he called me about 5 minutes after he drove off to tell me that he would tie our small, concrete job into another job he had a few miles down the road. This meant that it would subtract $600 from the original estimate, AND he would be able to do it the following week (which was before the rainy season began). He had his crew scheduled for 2 days the following week: one day to remove the old slab and set the scaffolding, the next day to pour the concrete. The job probably took a total of 4 hours to complete, over both days, and it went very smoothly (from my perspective). Tony did not require payment until after the job was complete, and a crew member came by to pick up my payment by check the following day. We actually feel safe going out our side door, which is great! And we can now turn the hose on without almost falling down the hillside; and we also don't have to worry about our garbage cans rolling down the hill and crashing into our neighbors' basement windows. Working with Tony was a very pleasant experience; I appreciated his responsiveness and up-front communication...which you definitely do not get from many contractors or home vendors. I do think that I could have saved money by looking elsewhere, but with the efficiency of the job done, them being willing to tie our project into another local job, and the timing of getting the job completed the following week, we are super satisfied and so glad we were able to make this work with Tony at AAA Solid Concrete Construction Inc."

"Aden Landscaping staff were excellent! They listened to my ideas, their prices were reasonable, and their work was excellent! They did an excellent job with fencing, flagstone, irrigation and a retaining wall. They were always polite, cleaned up every night, and were sensitive about the neighbors. I couldn't be happier!"

"Scott provided a good quote that described the work to be done with accurate pricing. This included: demo of the existing structure, disposal of the old decking and footings, installation of new footings, framing, Azek decking with a picture-frame border, and aluminum picket railing. During demolition of the decking, Scott discovered some dry-rot on the siding (where the previous deck hadn't had **any** flashing installed). He was able to add the demo and replacement of that siding with new pre-primed siding (we opted to paint it ourselves) as a separate quote at a per-hour amount with an estimate for hours and materials. The final product is excellent and my family is loving being out on our deck and enjoying our backyard! The only issues we ran into were in regard to communication and scheduling. Scott did a good job of communicating the plan when he was on-site or had finished up a stage in the project, but he did not do a good job of keeping us in the loop when schedules changed or there were delays. We also were the ones that needed to initiate contact after the schedule had gone off-track and find out when the next stage was going to begin. I would've appreciated (and would ask for) a more concrete schedule for the project laid out at the beginning and updates over time if that schedule needed to adjust. (Note: The railing was a known time-delay in the process and Scott did a good job communicating that it would be 3-4 weeks after construction of the deck was complete before the railing was finished being fabricated and installed.) Generally he was responsive on the first text/email, but the follow-through to finish the conversation and answer all questions wasn't always there. All said, Scott did a great job with the work we hired him to do and the deck is fabulous. It might've taken longer than originally hoped and with a few more bumps in the road, but as I said above, we're very happy with the end result."

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in North Bend, WA

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
