"A1 Handyman & Plumbing Services saved my house. I moved into a home built in 1925 and after three months noticed an open, leaking pipe in the basement ceiling. Water was pouring out of it, to provide a more accurate description. Sean from A1 came to the house. He investigated the leaking pipe further and discovered not only serious plumbing issues (multiple pipes connected to the same main drainage pipe) but also an abandoned oil tank was hidden behind the drywall; the consequences of neglect and thriftiness from the previous owners. The huge tank made it impossible to reroute the pipes properly. Sean removed the oil tank, ripped up the subfloor, and reorganized the pipes correctly. The inspector had failed to see this issue and the previous owners did not disclose it. Sean's honesty and professionalism was a blessing and a nice change of a pace from my homeowning experience to date. He's a plumbing guru as far as I'm concerned, not to mention a gifted problem solver. I've hired him again for a different issue and will continue to do so when needed in the future."

Very quick to respond to my request for proposal via both email and in person meeting.  Proved to be very knowledgeable, after a quick inspection, of my existing system and its' shortcomings.  Provided me with multiple options on a solution and clearly communicated the benefits of each.  I never felt like they were "selling" me but rather educating me during this process.  I know it was a sales engagement, but, it certainly was not high pressure.  I appreciated the fact that they gave me the option of certain upgrades (whole house humidifier as an example) and their benefits and costs.  They also gave me some time to research without a bunch of calls or pressure.  Installation was smooth, techs were knowledgeable, friendly, timely, neat and went the extra mile to answer my many questions.  I would highly recommend them based on my experience.

I gave them a "B" for Price but I feel I need to explain.  They were not the lowest quote I had gotten, but, based on all the little things and extras they did during the installation of my system I feel I got great value.  If they had a Value score I would give them the maximum.

"October 2013 was the second time I had Dan from American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing do work at my house.  The first job a couple years ago was to replace the shutoff valve on the line to the outside hose bibb.  The second time (October 2013) was for the 3 jobs listed above.  Both times the work was done professionally and in a timely manner.  Both valve replacements were done with higher quality parts than the builder had used.  After the initial installation, the shower needed adjusting to run hotter and getting that done took a single phone call, and it was done the next day.  So I would say American Drain is responsive to calls after the primary job is done.  The cost for the 3 jobs in October 2013 included the hardware & labor. Based on experiences I have had with other plumbing companies in the area, American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing is more reasonable.  I would recommend them and plan to use them in the future.

"New kitchen was done over by Artisin Contractors that I would not recommend to anyone. New kitchen sink was installed by them and was not done correctly. After months of leaks and water telling them they need to get a real plumber at my house and not a carpenter to fix a plumbing problem he finally called Grade A and got me a real professional plumber. His name is Roy and very professional and knew exactly what the problem was. Roy fixed the problem. He respects your home, when he interned my home he covered his shoes. Very nice man. Thank you."
