"We contacted California Customs Landscape for an estimate of work we wanted done. We set an appointment for a couple weeks out. Henry came out and we told him basically what we wanted to do. Our project was not an easy one at all. Our retaining wall required quite a bit more digging for the foundation than most as our property sits below a main street. We also have a water line for a Fire Hydrant that runs right where we wanted to build our wall and extend our driveway. Henry and his team worked with the city and came up with a solution that worked for all. Henry was very professional, honest and up front with us from the first day we met. The crew was ran by Mike and they were all very professional. Mike also kept us updated daily on the progress and what to expect. His crew showed up daily at 7 am and worked a full 8 hours each day. They cleaned up the work area each day, swept the sidewalk and put away equipment and tools daily. Our work is now complete. We have a new driveway, extended for additional parking, new shrubs planted with drip system, new concrete walkway around side and back of house. We will definitely use Henry, Mike and their crews for any future work we may have. We have to say, we did not choose California Customs Landscape for the price, we chose them because they were knowledgeable, professional and honest. We couldn't be happier with our decision. He understood the proposed work and was very professional. From our interactions I had every confidence that a good job would be done. Ultimately decided to go with another bid for two reasons: 1) Dave's bid was reasonable for the work, but highest of the group and 2) I needed a general contractor to coordinate additional work that was beyond the scope of what Dave offers. He thoroughly understands safety when it comes to construction and you feel confident that he is taking every measure to make your home not only a pleasant place to live in but also a very safe and sound structure. He is a great communicator. He goes over the project in detail so you understand what to expect and gives frequent updates on progress. If there were changes or surprises during the work, as many older homes do, he let us know of options on how to address the issue as well as be transparent on any additional cost. He is often on-site during the process and is very hands-on. He handles big jobs with subcontractors that he has had good working history and is very involved in checking on their progress. He is a very responsible person, and I trusted him with the keys to our house while the work got intense. I knew he would check all the windows and doors when locking up. Adam has an engineering background himself and also works with a structural engineer. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to home improvement. I appreciated that Adam listens to your needs and preferences and works toward your goals. He tries to picture how you will actually live in your house and make the renovations work to help achieve the potential of your home for your purposes. "I had a great experience with Shenon Construction. Tom has a great personality and is easy to work with. I had almost my entire house remodeled from the floors to the bathrooms to the driveway. Everything was done well and with skill, like the tiling and painting. Compared to others that I worked with during the remodel, Shenon Construction was the most accommodating. They helped me find other people when needed for some specific items. Adam, the project manager, was good at communicating throughout. I was renovating while living in a different state and felt that I could trust their team and was able to meet and see progress throughout. Anything I was not satisfied with, they addressed.
