"Unfortunately, drain would not work despite various methods employed by Hufts technician. Hufts was fair enough not to charge me for the visit. Guess its time for a new water heater."

"Jared showed up and wasted no time in doing two things at once (draining the hot water heater and repairing a small fireplace gas leak). He educated me a little on what he was doing which is always helpful. He was also careful to keep his booties on, so as not to ruin the shiny wood floors. Highly recommend based on this experience."

"Was able to advise me about getting a sewer clean out installed and what was causing the problem with backed up pipes. No repair was needed. This company is really honest and I will be using them again if I have a plumbing issue. Kyle was supper nice. Very helpful."

"Sewage blockage and needed cleanout replaced: they were quick to respond and quoted a great price compared to others. I had to question some of the work, more than I cared to, but they got the work done. As with anyone, be clear on what you want done and don't be afraid to check work along the way or ask questions. No complaint for the money."

"I received a text message from Mr. Drain Corp. within minutes of submitting my online request on Angi around 5:30am on a Sunday morning - very quick. Their dispatcher was friendly and professional and called me to schedule an estimate less than 3 hours later — around 8:20am — and had a service window of noon-4pm for a technician to visit and give us an estimate. We ended up using a different provider who was able to arrive by 8:40am that same Sunday morning, but I was impressed by the quick customer service provided by Mr. Drain Corp. and will keep them in mind for future plumbing needs! "I highly recommend Groundworks for foundation concerns. They were very prompt with returning my call and providing a free inspection. I had concerns for my 103 year old home, especially a section of the foundation. Their Inspector, Bob Bloom, arrived on time, was professional and experienced, took time to answer all my questions (thank you for not rushing), and provided me with useful feedback on my foundation and options for repair. Bob gave an honest assessment with no sales pressure. Although I decided to defer foundation work at this time, I will definitely use them in the future."

"They used the part I had at the house to fix it. I bought it about a year ago, and had never put it in. I called them, and they came out to put the part in. It is working ok now. I have been using this company for 15 years now."
Our team at Bonney helped restore flow at this Sacramento home by performing a sewer spot repair on the main line for our customer. This involved locating the problem area, digging the trench, snaking the line to clear the drain, repairing a section of the sewer pipe, and then backfilling the space to restore back to the original landscape.

"Called on Wednesday before Thanksgiving because I had a toilet that was malfunctioning. Wanted them to come early on Friday. Levon and an apprentice came on time assessed the situation, picked up the part they needed and fixed the toilet. They also checked the water pressure coming into the house and before they left, they made sure that no water was flowing through the system. I was very impressed with the thoroughness and quality of work. I definitely would recommend them!!"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Rancho Cordova, CA

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
