"Dan came out and performed a walk-thru, and gave us a quote. I called him a few days later to confirm we had all the big furniture included. He confirmed. I also stated we had a few more boxes than anticipated. It ended up being 12 more boxes. He confirmed it was an hourly job, and would not be an issue. The moving day turned out to be a different story. They did another walk-thru, The quote changed by approx $300. After he gave me the new quote, I told him we would be paying with cash, and Dan had stated if we paid in cash we would receive a 4% discount. The foreman replied, **oh you are paying with cash?** I replied **yes** and questioned the quote. He said that was including the discount. ??? He did not know we were paying cash until after he wrote the new quote. I was not happy, but what are you going to do on moving day? When they were finished moving everything, they finished earlier than expected. My partner asked them to adjust the quote. They said they did not do any adjustments in the field. Corporate would handle it. My partner had them write the finish time on the invoice, and sign it. The foreman did this, but only on our copy. I called the office the next business day and spoke to Chris. He had me send a copy of our invoice since the one they received had no notes about the finish time. We did as requested. 3 to 4 phone calls later, with various reasons why we had not been credited, and 3 weeks later, we received the refund. Our first phone call revealed Their invoice did not have any notes ours had. After verifying this, Chris said they would credit our cc. On the next call, Chris stated he sent the request to his GM and it would be taken care of within 24 to 48 hours. four business days later, I called and spoke to Chris, again. He started his GM missed the e-mail he sent to him. Again, he stated it would be handled within 24-48 hours. It did not happen, again. I left a voice mail regarding the refund. Finally received $80.00 3 weeks later. No 4% discount refunded. Very sketchy way of doing business. I will be forwarding invoices, emails, and call logs to the BBB when I file the complaint."

FAQs for in-state moving service projects in Salem, OR

Laws differ from state to state, but the number one rule is that you cannot move a mobile home on your own. You have to hire a licensed mobile home moving company. While each state is different, you’ll also have to research HUD codes, permits, and other laws specific to the area to ensure your move follows all necessary regulations.

Yes, a permit is required to move a mobile home. You must secure permits in the state of origin and in every state through which the mobile home passes. When moving across state boundaries, obtain a permit for each state. Your moving company assists in acquiring all required permits, ensuring strict compliance with local regulations during the entire relocation process.

No, you cannot move a mobile home built before 1976. Mobile homes constructed before 1976 do not meet current safety standards and must not be relocated. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development enforces strict guidelines that prevent moving older models. Verify the build year and comply with all HUD regulations to ensure safety and legal compliance.
