"Joseph and his crew showed up on time and ready for the install. They worked diligently for about 5 hours, completing the installation. The details and the reasons for the configuration and the methods of installation were explained to me, as was the operating procedures for the new system. Everything was cleaned up before the crew left. I would highly recommend Smart Electric"

"Mike and his team did a great job upgrade our electrical panel from 100A to 200A. They did a great job and we appreciate their work and effort. Mike is kind, professional and always willing to help. He has answered me lots of questions and make adjustments based on my request. The process goes smoothly and inspection passed without any doubt. And their price is the best (among the 3 companies I quote)! Would highly recommended them for anyone needs a panel upgrade or electrical work."

"Preston was wonderful. He explain what he is gonna do and recommend and he followed through. He fixed my last contractor, E R Elite Remodeling, LLC's lousy job. PRESTON fixed it all and made our electrical outlet work again. He worked honestly and he was a very nice and kind gentlemen. I would hire him again for my next upcoming project. "Hired them to install a tankless water heater, which required an electrical upgrade from 30A to 120A. They handled everything with the panel, ran the new wiring without any damage to the drywall, and kept everything clean. They also added can lights in the ceiling of one room, and installed outdoor electrical outlets. They were fast, professional, and incredibly sharp. Definitely a go-to place for all your home electrical needs."

"The house has been around a long time (more than 70 years) and was in need of electrical work. This demanded attentiveness to detail and ingenuity. Jim of Brennan Electric did all of this, and did so both economically and in a timely manner. He was resourceful, knowledgeable, and reassuring--a joy to work with."

"I was up late planning and budgeting for a potential remodel project and I reached out to Pacific Home Electric. Even at 9:30 at night, Troy responded promptly and helped me with my budget. He was absolutely professional and went out of his way to make sure I was asking the right questions. IMO, the best people to work with are those that help you be a better version of yourself. I have not began work yet but I know that he would be my first choice."

"Very efficient and thorough company. Our new home came with a Home Warranty Policy. Shortly after closing we started to have electrical issues. The insurance company sent out 1st Choice Electrical who brought our 1977 home up to code with a new electrical panel and GFI outlets. We also had them install a new outlet for a over the range microwave. If the need arises we will definitely use them again."

"Seatown Electric did a great job and I will call them again when I have electrical repair or installation needs. They were very responsive - even on the weekend. They returned messages and calls promptly. They provided status updates of where my technician was by text message regularly. My technician, Taylor, was prompt, professional and helpful. Everyone that I spoke with at Seatown was equally professional and helpful."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Seattle, WA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
