"Wilbers Painting company did an excellent job painting my gutters/downspouts and trim around my front door. I also had my front door stained which did not come out to my satisfaction the first time and I showed Wilber a picture of the door and he came back and re-sanded the door and re-stained it. It is beautiful now. Wilber stands behind his work. I would definitely hire his company again for future painting projects. Wilber and his staff were very professional and courteous. M. CASEY"

"MENDEZ Painting did an excellent job in matching my existing engineered wood flooring, removed carpet from steps and repalce with white oak with stain to match flooring. Also installed a 20 x 30 wall tile in basement that looks outstanding. Very professional crew with expert results."

"Excellent service. Quick to respond to the Angi notification and quick to be out to our house for an estimate. It was a relatively small job reseating two sinks, but Ferney took the time to explain everything and make sure it was all done to the highest standard"

"I highly recommend Emerald Painting. Roland was incredibly responsive and helpful with suggestions. His crew was professional, efficient, and skilled. We love the finished product - new exterior paint on a brick row house, repaired and painted concrete steps and porch, painted steel rail, and stained wooden deck. I will hire Roland and Emerald Painting for all similar future projects."

"We re-hired the D.Fuentes team to paint the exterior of our home after they did such an efficient job washing and staining a fence for us a few years ago. The result is an excellent job and the team took great care around our foundation plants, and in the post-job cleanup. We would hire them again."

"The work was excellent.  He insured we understood my needs, the project needs, and provided advise on project needs.  He and his crew were very professional, arriving on schedule, diligent, polite, knowledgeable, and thorough.  He provided a scheduled arrival time in advance the day before and stuck to that schedule.  He or his staff briefed me as to the work they would do and a review of progress at the end of each day.  He responded immediately to my inquiry with an estimate (actually the very day I called).  He and his crew cleaned up any debris left at the end of each days work and did a thorough cleaning of the work area after they were done.  The new paint matched the old colors.
One of my concerns was the old ceiling support and nails did not appear to handle the heavy large drywall panels that fell.  He reinforced the ceiling support and used screws and smaller panels.  His installation was much superior.
He asked me to call him should I have any problems that develop later.  I have not had any problems.

"The JW painters (Thomas M., Juan M., and Kevin) arrived promptly as scheduled; worked exceptionally efficiently (completing the project in half the estimated time); and produced a high quality paint job on our house windows. I am a repeat customer and will continue to rely on JW for any home project."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Washington, DC

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
