"From beginning to end it went really well. Greg is a walking encyclopedia of trees and good practical advice on how to manage them. His proposal was clearly written and lower than two other firms. The crew was right on time, wasted no time getting set up and taking the tree down, and removed a large limb from another tree that fell while they were working on the dead tree. They climbed up about 50 feet in a twin trunk tree and installed a cable between the twins to help stabilize the lesser twin. Very pleased with them, enough to recommend them to my neighbor who also used them for a dead tree in their front yard."

They removed two dead trees, removed another that was growing into power lines, trimmed three large maple trees and trimmed a row of leyland cypresses that were "leggy". "I was amazed that Bryron the son called me the same day of my inquiry which happened over a holiday weekend. The workers could not have been so fast, cheerful and polite on a very hot day than any other company I worked with. Our yard had been neglected we had trees and shrubs hanging over the gutters and stubborn weeds. Now I really feel proud of our lawn when I wave to the neighbors because not only was the greenery trimmed but they made each bush and tree like shrub in a perfect manicured shape. "Late on the evening of June 30, strong storms rolled through the District.  Those storms caused an approximately 75ft Poplar tree in the rear of our home to fall.  Thankfully, a neighboring tree of similar height prevented it from landing on our neighbor's home.  Before the sun came up, we began searching for tree services and came across Tri-State Tree Service.  We called at approximately 7:30am which is the time the company is listed as being open for business.  Mr. Kerwin Harmon answered the phone, listened to our tree issue and indicated he would come to our home within an hour.  Within an hour, Mr. Harmon was at our home assessing the fallen tree. He discussed his plan for tree removal which included job start time, duration and price.  By the end of the day, the tree had been removed and the wood was neatly stacked in our yard in a predetermined location.  A large tree stump had also be removed at our request.  The entire process was professional and smooth.  We will absolutely use Tri-State Tree Service again.

"I contacted five tree removal companies to provide an estimate. The Greentree guy (I am sorry he verbally told me his name, but I have forgotten it).I provided him with my list of what exactly I wanted done and I accompanied him around the yard pointing out the trees and discussing the job. He seemed to know what he was talking about and provided me with what I thought was useful information. When we were finished, he verbally gave me an estimate and gave me some information about Greentree's schedule and openings. I thanked him for his time and he left. The estimate he gave me was the lowest estimate I received, however it was not written down nor did he provide me with any supporting paperwork like all the rest. It may just be me but I was someone uncomfortable with this approach to business. It may have worked out perfectly well if I had decided to go with Greentree, and maybe they are so busy they don't need to be more business like. In any case, despite the low estimate, I was just not comfortable with Greentree. Other's may feel differently."

"During the 2/24/2019 windstorm in Montgomery County a pine tree fell onto my neighbors' property. I contacted Kuhn's to have that fallen tree removed and also to get an estimate on a large oak tree in my front yard that has had issues with many falling branches. I had used them before to grind a stump and remove deadwood from another fallen tree. Sean was very knowledgeable about the trees and provided me a good price to do the work. The crew that came was very professional and completed all the work in about 3 hours. The only issue I had was getting the crew out but that was because there was weather and an emergency job that came in the way and I felt the office could be a little more responsive but overall it was good work. I will use this company again."
