"Forest Landscape turned our sloped dirt backyard into a real backyard. They installed a retaining wall, a paver patio, fire pit, gravel stairs on the side of our home, plants, and drip irrigation. While it took longer to get an estimate from them, it was worth the wait. We got a real landscape design by Linda. Once the design was agreed on, Rigo and his team did an amazing job on the project. They were on time every day (actually early) and got the job done quicker than anticipated. They made numerous changes for us once the design was agreed upon and made the process easy. As a family-owned business, you can tell how much pride they take in their work. The yard looks great, and I would highly recommend."

Customers say: Quick response

"Pablo and crew were excellent. We had a couple of things we wanted to take care of and Pablo had a vision and painted a picture of how he would transform the whole patio. Other landscapers said they would do this or that but Pablo was able to do it all. GTG was always on time and respectful of the property. Now we are the talk of the neighborhood as people drop by to admire our new patio."

"Alberto and crew exceeded my expectations when it came to installing a paver walkway from the front of my home to backyard. I'm really happy I went with them. Their prices were competitive and the crew was timely, professional, efficient, and very tidy. They really paid attention to the little details and as a homeowner I really appreciated that. I would recommend them and plan on working with them on future projects as well."

Small jobs welcome

"A true perfectionist. Wonderful workmanship. Corrected errors of the original paver installers and added new square footage to my existing patio. Also leveled my hot tub with a color matching concrete pad. Wonderful workmanship and pleasant personality. Highly recommend Luna Masonary for any paver/masonary."

"Great. They are booked out 6 weeks but, because my job was smaller and I wasn't in a hurry, they were able to fit me in earlier. We are going to use them again for irrigation and a small paver sidewalk."

"Great company to work with, install team was awesome and very good. Extremely happy to have chosen them add a company. Price was very comparable to the quotes I got but the work itself was awesome. Had a paver patio installed on uneven ground, and they handled it all perfectly."

"My yard/garden was a disaster. Three-foot tall, out-of-control, weeds, unusable backyard because of sloping, dead lawn, Zero landscaping (to name just a few issues). My neighbors have been nice for many, many years to not complain, but my yard needed major help. Tony came out to consult with my ideas/plans for the area. He listened to what I was thinking and gave helpful advice. Affordable Quality Landscape did an amazing job. Tony and his crew spent 6-7 full days here. Yard clean up, digging out bamboo roots that had spread all over the backyard (although there were only 6 visible bamboo stalks). Leveled out the soil, and added a retaining wall and root blocking material to reduce the spread of bamboo in the future (the bamboo had jumped over from the neighbor's yard). They build a beautiful paver patio (honestly, it's a nice small patio--a professional job); laydown a ton (probably true in weight) of river rock along the side of the house, back and front. Installed edging to prevent the river rock spreading. FYI, I have one of those narrow lot, two story (newer) homes you see popping up all over the Portland Metro. The crew also built a paver pad for me to put my garbage and recycling bins (that before were left on top of dirt/bark). Finally, they laid new sod for the small front yard (about 10'x10'--small enough that I don't feel too bad about the lawn's water consumption). I'll have Affordable Quality Landscape back in autumn, after the summer heat, to add plantings and trees. Note: Originally, I wanted to do work during the summer of 2021, but I waited too late (July) to contact Tony... they were already booked through September. This year, I called in early May."

"Jeff Reid and his team at Affordable Ponds waved their magic wand and constructed a beautiful new koi pond including waterfall just outside the living room of our log home. They also gave a huge start on landscaping our rural residence’s wildfire defensible space. Jeff saved us time, money, backache, and heartache by doing it right – with jaw-dropping results. We are thrilled with both the beauty and functionality of our new pond. Our entire experience was outstanding and had NO negatives. If you desire deep knowledge of pond construction plus years of experience, integrity, reliability, teamwork, work ethic, project nimbleness, artistic vision, amazing value, and total commitment to customer service and happiness – search no further. Details: This two day job went so smoothly that it was completed several hours more quickly than anticipated. The original shallow 450-gallon pond constructed by the previous homeowner was plagued with multiple issues. Jeff and his team corrected everything. The new pond is a freeform 10’ x14’. Deepened to 2.5 feet, it now contains ~2,600 capacious gallons for our large koi. A 3-tiered waterfall changes direction as it meanders down the (new) hillside. Jeff designed the low-profile waterfall to enhance the view of the spectacular valley below our log home – not obscure it. Angled for views from nearly every room, the waterfall’s three underwater LED lights highlight the drops at night. In effect, this added an additional “room” to our house. Rock from the old pond was incorporated, including flat slabs for the waterfall’s tiered overhangs. Ferns, deer-resistant plants, and boulders were artistically placed, incl. utilizing several already on our property. Everything looks completely natural. Reflections from the waterfall create a beautiful play of light on our living room’s ceiling logs. The water’s sound is entrancing – even magical. An undergravel filtration system makes the new pond crystal-clear and low maintenance. What a relief! No more dealing with filthy box filters. No skimmer. We will simply have annual deep-cleaning done by Affordable Ponds. Affordable Ponds brought huge tubs for our 8 fish (incl. a 20” & 12” koi) and handled them with care. All fish did well with their 6-hour temporary relocation and introduction into the new pond. Three rock “koi caves” were constructed in the new pond – Jeff and his team are knowledgeable about fish habitat and behavior. They are now also better protected from predators. Jeff, the owner of Affordable Ponds, was on site the entire time (I know that this is not always the case for some pond construction companies). His constant presence ensured our mutual design vision was executed, plus Jeff was able to directly consult with us about unforeseen things including slightly relocating the pond for optimal siting and installation of extra LED wiring to add driveway perimeter lights – something we didn’t realize we wanted until the project was nearly complete. Jeff worked energetically alongside his team plus directed their efforts for peak efficiency. He constantly encouraged and praised his hard-working crew. All were unfailingly supportive of each other; cheerful, positive, and friendly. Not once did I hear a complaint or harsh word. Jeff’s commitment to customer service and happiness marked every single interaction. All communications were clear and timely. He was open and responsive to our many questions, and did a terrific job of educating us about how to care for our new pond. The team was punctual – they arrived 15” early both days. They were respectful of our property, and completely cleaned up the job site. Jeff and his crew repeatedly expressed appreciation for the opportunity to earn our business and trust, and acted as if we were their only customers (which we most assuredly are not). In summary, we could not be happier. This was an amazing experience with incredible results – and a value in all respects. So far, one friend has seen our new pond: he was astonished by the beauty and value. My husband and I expected a lot – and even so, got far more than we ever dreamed. Entrusting our pond and fish to Affordable Ponds was the best decision we could have possibly made."

"John, Josh and one more guy arrived this morning and got right to work figuring out our old "DIY" system. They replaced all the valve boxes, valves, installed new sprinkler heads, and repaired a couple of pipe leaks. PLUS we have a new outside hose spigot near the vegetable garden which John suggested we add (great idea!). By the end of the day, everything was working again. We can't tell where any digging was done because they replaced the dirt and/or gravel exactly as they found it. Our front lawn and backyard oasis will be so happy now, and no more hand-watering for me! We highly recommend Portland Sprinklers, Inc. Thank you, thank you, John & Co.!! Mike & Margie"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Welches, OR

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
