Comment: Looking to convert garage into additional living area. This is a town home. The space is approximately 12'x18'. I would like to raise the floor to be level with the main living area in the house (approx 4.5"). The downstairs living are has laminate flooring and the converted garage would match. Instead of a garage door, based on model homes in the neighborhood, we would have three-section french doors to the exterior. Would need to consult HOA on paint color. We have roughly priced out materials on framing, sub-floor and laminate but not the doors. Prefer to use one contractor for both. Electrical is OK but would like to have additional wall sockets added if possible. We have not considered options for heating and cooling at this point, looking for recommendations (if required).
