"This is an excellent young company whose owners are professional and responsible. They used to work for a large company that our old central air condo uses but unlike THAT company, these guys are HONEST and actually do the work at a fair price! I called 8 other companies and had 2 other companies to our condo and they did absolutely nothing except charge me for work that they should have done. Chris and Steve did all the maintenance and cleaning work on 4 central air units and discovered a ticking time bomb in the master bedroom right over hubby's work closet. The overflow sensor was not working, and the pan was full to the lip and would have ruined everything in the closet and the teak floors below. These guys will be back on a regular basis with us and hopefully our condo association will be open to spreading the word amongst the residents who are getting ripped off by the other companies who are often here."

"I was looking for someone to put a very large window air conditioner in as soon as possible. I have medical reasons and have to use it 24/7. I had called several companies but, understandably they were all booked weeks out. When Jason and I met over the phone he was already booked for the day but said he would come over after he had completed that job. He is such a nice guy and I loved how he got to work. Mostly, I admired the work he did, very neat and the caulking was awesome. The reason I say this is because I have had 3 air conditioners put in over a 16 year period and each of them were done sloppy. Jason does many different jobs besides installing air conditioners and I can imagine he takes great pride in all he does. Give Jason a call I am sure you wont be disappointed"

FAQs for air conditioning projects in Aiea, HI

Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.

Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.

Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.

Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.

Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
