"This was a case of a gigantic, multi-ton high-voltage machine being hobbled by a very tiny and loose low-voltage wire that had probably loosened due to vibrations, and eventually disconnected within its little insulator cap.  The expensive Nest smart thermostat helped to solve the problem by indicating that it wasn't receiving the voltage that it needed to do its job and to keep its emergency battery fully charged.  In order for the Nest thermostat to indicate this situation (since its battery had completely discharged), it was necessary for me (the owner) to purchase a micro-USB-to-USB cable from Radio Shack ($16) so that the Nest thermostat's battery could be externally re-charged, thus enabling the LCD display to be viewed and interpreted.  Since the technician had to go up onto the roof to open the air-conditioner to get to the Rh wire connector, he also checked all of the other voltages and connections and determined that all were as they should be.  "

"I used to do A/C work back in the early '80s so, I can recognize when someone is or isn't doing a good job. I got three separate quotes to have an existing central heat and air conditioning system, for the downstairs, replaced. Ronnie, from Expert Air, was the only one who actually surveyed the house to see exactly what size unit was really needed. As it turned out, the existing unit was the proper size but, it never hurts to check. I will never complain that someone was "too thorough". Expert Air was not the least expensive but; their written guarantee was worth the difference. The installers showed up on time and were very professional. The first thing they did was to lay down a protective plastic down on the floor where they would have to walk. They removed the old unit in the attic first. Then, they installed the new furnace and evaporator coil, including a new plenum and condensate drain pan. Then, they installed the new condensing unit outside. After connecting the refrigerant lines, they pulled a vacuum to ensure there was no moisture in the lines and to also ensure there was no leak in the lines. A lot of companies skip this step. They even replaced the thermostat. Then, they started up the unit adjusted the charge and checked the entire system again. When they were done, they did a very thorough job cleaning up all the bits and pieces of the old system. I only found two small pieces of tape and a little piece of plastic. In my opinion, that is excellent. The new furnace was set up for natural gas, which is the standard, so we needed a conversion kit to use propane. We knew this in advance and, we also knew that this would not be installed on the same day but, the weather was just about what I consider to be “perfect”. Two days later, the owner, Keith, came out to personally install that kit. He seems like a very nice guy. He said that the temperature was supposed to drop over the weekend and, he wanted to make sure that our heat was working before that happened. He even checked the A/C for the upstairs and added some Freon at no charge. I might get a couple more years out of that unit but, when it comes time to replace it, Expert Air will be my first call."

They had to come back because the evaporator coil in the attic was defective from the factory. They didn't catch and I didn't neither when they first installed but it showed after a month. They came back out took out the old one and put in a new one and its worked ever since.

If you have to have heating and air work I certainly look at them. We've used them for inspections for quite a number of years but this was a major replacement and they did that well."

"I felt that Mr. Alfred was genuine concerned of my situation and came by on a HOLIDAY to see if he can get me and my family out of the heat. Our air condition went out and was not cooling the air in the house. It was awful to see my wife and children in that condition. I called AngieList over the phone and representative gave me 3 closes companies rated the best. I called the first one which was the competition and they said to come out on 4th of July he will charged me $180.00 just for the service call. He said he charges $90 per regular day and extra $90 because it was a holiday, I quickly turned them down and called Air Rescue after seeing a promo they have and also they were the 2nd on my list. He offered to come around 1am to 2am the wednesday when I called after my work but I said no that was fine. That was the first thing that stand out. I asked him if he could come one July 4th and he said he could. He did tell me that he could look at it but just to keep in mind that if we need a part like a coil or condenser that the location may be closed for the holiday. I thanked him for giving me the heads up and scheduled to meet that day. He came to my house and fixed the problem. My wife and me were amazed how quickly he found the problem and took care of it . Now we have a A/C repairman for life!
