"Frosty Fox AC installed our new unit and did a great job. Quick, professional, and everything was explained clearly throughout the process. The install was smooth, and they left everything clean when they were done. Our home is cooling perfectly now. Highly recommend."

"Owner Martin is honest beyond belief! A different air-conditioning company told me I need a new fan and capacitor for $1700 and priced a new unit for me at 12,000. Martinâ s estimate was significantly lower by several thousand and when he went to put on a new motor for us to hold us over until we could get a new unit (it was a holiday weekend) He found the old fan did not need replacing and it was only a capacitor. He replaced it for $175. He could have easily just move forward and sold us a new unit but he would not do that. When we need that new unit we will definitely call Burgos!"

"Fabulous service. The employee who checked our air conditioner was personable and knowledgeable. He replaced a small part, cleaned both of our air conditioners and now the noise that one of them was making is gone. We were pleasantly surprised by his friendly manner and we felt him to be extremely trustworthy which is a rarity these days."

"Richies Heating, and Cooling Company, Emery Heating, Cooling Solar, Llc, was highly recommended by Scott my friend. They came over the next day in 95 degree weather, worked very hard, and finished it the same day. They replaced the unit, installed the thermostat, electrical unit, had to climb up into the attic in the hot weather replaced the insulation , drain pipe and duct work , etc. The house is cool, and I highly recommend them.!!"

FAQs for air conditioning projects in Phoenix, AZ

A standard blower door test takes between 30 minutes and one hour to complete. The process involves setting up specialized equipment in your doorway, running the fan to create pressure differences, and taking measurements throughout your home. Additional services like thermal imaging or detailed leak detection will extend this timeframe. The technician will also spend time explaining the results and making recommendations based on their findings.

Preparation involves turning off all combustion appliances, such as gas furnaces and water heaters, for safety. Secure all exterior doors and windows, but leave interior doors open to allow airflow throughout the house. Close fireplace dampers and cover any ashes to prevent them from being drawn into living spaces. Clear access to potential inspection areas like attics and crawlspaces, and inform everyone in the household about the test to prevent accidental door openings during the process.

Older homes often benefit most from blower door testing because they have more air leakage points than newer construction. The test can pinpoint specific areas where relatively inexpensive improvements will yield significant energy savings.

Many homeowners of vintage properties report noticeable reductions in drafts and more consistent indoor temperatures after addressing issues identified during testing. The potential utility savings often recover the testing cost within a reasonable timeframe.

New construction must meet increasingly stringent energy codes that specify maximum allowable air leakage rates. Meeting these standards requires careful attention to air sealing details during construction.

Success depends largely on properly installing air barriers, thoroughly sealing around penetrations, and quality control throughout the building process. While achieving code compliance is challenging, builders who implement systematic air sealing protocols succeed in meeting required standards.

It's best to schedule a follow-up test after completing all recommended air sealing and insulation work. This allows you to verify the effectiveness of your improvements as a complete package. Allow sufficient time for all sealing materials to cure properly—often a few weeks after completion. The verification test provides documentation of your home's improved performance and confirms you've addressed the issues identified in the initial assessment.
