"Called on a Saturday at 6:20 am he answered the phone I explained my LG dryer was taking too long to drive.  He walked me through a couple steps I could try on my own if that didn't fix it to call him back and he would come out.   Amazing customer service in this day and age.  If there was a higher rating I would give it to this merchant.

"I purchased a new Trane heat pump from Ace Home Services in 2007, and purchased an extended 10-year parts and labor warranty from them at the same time.  They had to replace the compressor under warranty a year later because it had been leaking coolant since it was installed.  I did not purchase the $329.95 Preventative Maintenance Program from them, although I have had them come out and inspect and service the unit yearly since I bought it.  At first they called me several times a year trying to set up appointments or sell me services, but after I called their office and asked them to stop calling me, they did.  Every time they come out, they try to sell me the Preventative Maintenance Program.  On New Year's Day, I noticed my fan was running continuously. it was blowing cool air,  and the temperature in the house was dropping.  Since it was very cold outside, I suspected the unit was simply freezing up, and so I turned it off for an hour, turned it back on, and when it continued to blow cool air, I called Ace.  I was told the defrost function should have kicked it, and since it didn't, I requested a technician come out.
He arrived about 6PM, and when he began telling me the $63.95 service call price would be applied to the repair cost, I told him I had a 10-year parts and labor warranty. and he asked to see it.  I showed it to him, and he told asked me if I had bought the Preventative Maintenance Program and said the warranty would be voided if preventative maintenance had not been done.  He really seemed to have an attitude.  I showed him the stack of receipts for yearly inspections and service, and he took them and sat down at my table and started going through them painstakingly.  He was spending such a long time looking through them all, that I told him if he was going to try and weasel out of my warranty, it would be the last time I did business with Ace.  He told me I could call Trane, about it, and I told him I didn't buy the unit from Trane, I bought it from Ace.
He then got up and went up on the roof.  A few minutes later, he came back down and said, "Well, I guess I won't be able to help you tonight."  "Why?" I asked and he pointed to a picture of my unit on his cell phone, showing it iced up.  I asked him why he couldn't help me, and he said, "I told you.  Your defrost board has failed and I don't have one on my truck.  We'll have to order it, and they are in such demand right now I don't know when we can get one.  But we'll replace it under warranty, although you have pay for the service call."  By this time, his snarky attitude was beginning to irritate me, and I told him, ok, whatever, it is what it is -  I would be reviewing this transaction on Angie's List.  All of the sudden his attitude changed, he shook my hand and thanked me and left.  4 days later, this morning, I came home from work to find the work order for the defrost board  under my front gate.  There was a message on my phone that they were installing it.   All the technicians at this company have been professional, except for the one Thursday night - perhaps he didn't like working on a holiday.  He was definitely the exception to the rule.  That is the main reason for the lowered rating, although I think Ace Home Services' prices are a little high, and they are a little too high pressure."
