"We were super impressed by Ryan Johnson. In preparing for our full kitchen and attic remodel, we met with so, so many contractors (GCs, flooring, carpenters, architects/engineers, etc) and Johnson Custom Builders truly came out at the top. Ryan was prompt and clear in all of his communications. He got in touch with me right away to schedule an appointment after I requested a bid. He showed up on time, and we had a thorough conversation about our project. He clearly has a lot of great ideas and knows what he is talking about. He quickly caught some elements in our drawings that could be done differently for better effect. As a woman who is interested in design and building, I often feel diminished or disrespected when meeting with contractors, but with Ryan it felt as if he was talking to me as a peer. I deeply appreciate that. After our appointment he promptly sent me a very detailed cost breakdown for a project that was similar in scope to ours, and was patient as I asked clarifying questions. In the end, we decided we wanted the adventure and learning experience of contracting the job ourselves, but will gladly come crawling back to Ryan with our tails between our legs if we end up needing to hire someone."

"We hired N&R on a recommendation from a friend and were very pleased with them from beginning to end. Anatoliy, who runs the company, is very knowledgeable, notably since in addition to extensive construction experience he has training as an engineer and therefore understands house issues rather better than most. The work involved constructing a 6-person sauna from cedar (interior) and pine (exterior). This required them to modify what was there already (tearing out old shelves etc) and constructing the sauna room (frame, panels, insulation, seating benches etc), fitting the sauna heater (with associated electrical work), and tiling the floor and lower portion of the room. The result was beautiful and the exterior was constructed in keeping with the existing paneling elsewhere in the basement. Anatoliy managed his small crew very well, and brought in an electrician who fixed a couple of general wiring problems (for very little extra money) while he was at it. We use the sauna all the time. Anatoliy was a pleasure to deal with: very professional, likable and honest. We're going to hire him to do some more work in the near future."

They created a contemporary space in front of our office building with beautiful pavers, concrete benches, a pondless fountain with basalt columns, an irrigation system, lighting, and landscaping. We have been getting many compliments on Sunny Seattle's work. Amado helped us to secure permitting which was a big challenge! He made sure everything was done to code and permitted. He stayed very close to the budget we set. When we had a small leak after the completion of the project he and his team took responsibility and fixed the problem and covered the expenses. Amado is honest, hard working, caring and was open to listening and implementing our ideas."
