"Structural engineer came by to confirm if wall was non-load bearing as suspected. Confirmed, can now move on with my project."

"We hired Shay to correctly vault our home’s ceilings after they were unsafely vaulted years earlier by a licensed general contractor. Shay, their construction manager, gave us a typed, 17 page contract on the SAME DAY that he came to give us an estimate (!) The contract was highly specific, with detailed scope of work, and contained many protections for the homeowner, several which we referred to during the project. Their bid wasn’t the lowest, nor was it the highest — two came in at double and triple Shay’s estimate, one at 30% less. We were inspired by Shay’s rapidly produced and detailed contract — along with the excellent references that they gave us — to go with them, and we’re very glad that we did. They started a month AHEAD of schedule, and had reasonable progress payments as the project continued. Every step of the way their work was on time and professional, and their change orders were always necessary and reasonable. They followed the architectural and structural plans in great detail, worked well with our structural engineer, and in several instances saved us from having to rip out parts of our floor and a kitchen window through their effective negotiations with the planning office. All building inspections were passed with no difficulties, and the site was cleaned up immaculately upon completion of the project."

"Rich has completed several projects in the past and plans breezed through plan check, I did not use him for this project because of engineering requirements in the job. ."

"Excellent Architect We hired SSA, Inc. for the exterior and interior remodel of our Autobody shop building. It is a challenging project since the building was never upgraded to be current code compliant. There are existing items to be legalized as well. Sharmila, Owner/Principal Architect is very knowledgable, experienced and familiar with city process, current building and fire codes. She is very personable, creative and suggested solutions and design that are both effecient for our setup as well as acceptable by the City. She and her competent, effecient team of engineers delivered design plans, renderings, drawing sets in a fast paced timeline so we do not have lags in our operations. SSA, Inc and team have expereince working with the building departments in all cities in the bay area. They communicate promptly and effectively with plan checkers and building officials. She is a fantastic architect who always works for the best outcome for her client. We are very thankful to have hired her and highly recommend her companys services for your remodel, addition or new construction project."

"Outstanding, custom service! Bill Fisher is quite simply the best architect in Santa Cruz...not only for my house, but he designed the large residential building on North Pacific and River. Fast, expert, and affordable... Bill will help you navigate the code maze in Santa Cruz and get your plans approved and built. Definitely will use/recommend him again and again."

"I recently contracted with Brothers and Brothers building to complete renovations on two bathrooms and expansion of the master bedroom walk in closet. This was my second remodeling project having completed a home rebuild a while ago, so I have prior experience working with contractors. Working with Brother and Brother Builders was just a great experience and the finished work is outstanding. Our Project Manager was Daniel Perez who did an excellent job communicating with us on a regular basis, was immediately accessible by text, staying on top of the project, and fulfilling our visions. He is very knowledge and made several suggestions along the way that really enhanced our design. He has a â can doâ attitude. Even into the project I would ask him to do little extras and he always accommodated us with a great smile. Daniel even noticed finished items he did not like and had his crew return to redo the work. He was a delight to work with. The on-site managers, Nick and Oner, were also helpful, professional, and very accommodating. In fact, the whole construction crew was great. The project was completed as per the time line and within the contracted amount, no surprises. With regards to the finished product, we could not be happier. Brother and Brother Builders really provide quality work, attention to detail, customer service, stress less remodeling, all a timely manner. Their quality of work and professionalism is unmatched. Take it from one who has experience with remodeling projects, I highly recommend Brother and Brother Builders."

"Shilpa working with her structural engineer completed all the architectural and structural plans and calculations for a 400SF single story addition, complete with drilled piers and grade beams, in just over two months for submittal to City for review. Shilpa is very easy to work with and is quite readily available to fit my work and project schedule. Shilpa is very responsive to my comments and timely completion of required documents. Cost is reasonable. City has few review comments and issued permit for construction. I would definitely retain Shilpa again when the need comes up."

Gomer made every effort to work within my budget, while listening to me wishes and ensuring I got exactly what I wanted. I will be asking him to work on the 2nd part of my project and I’ve referred him to a relative who has a similar project."
