"I definitely would recommend Joe Soucek for an acoustic tile ceiling installation. Our basement ceiling came out beautiful. Joe even removed old shop-type fluorescent lights and installed recessed lights and a dimmer switch. If you are wavering between acoustic tiles or drywall you really might want to go the tile path, it looks great and now we have access to pipes and duct work. Plus my husband may be running stereo wires above the tiles. After being stood up by another contractor, we contacted Joe. He made the whole process easy: he quoted us via measurements and pictures I had emailed him, he had the tile supplier drop ship us samples of ceiling tiles to choose from, and he stayed in communication with us about the time-line, which was dependent on the lights coming in. All very professional. Plus he is an all-around nice guy."

"Mike did an amazing job with my basement remodel. From drawing up the plans, being very knowledgeable in all areas, clean up and professionalism, I knew I went with the right company. From studs, to drywall, to ceiling to finishing touches, I am amazed how awesome my basement looks. I would recommend Mike for all projects and already have him scheduled for 1 of my bathrooms."

"Kris and his crew were excellent! They repaired a ceiling that had been repaired prior and made it look so much better and not even noticeable. While they were on site I asked for a quote on another project and Kris gave me a great price and performed the service while on site! Would highly recommend this company!"

"I had some water damage done from a leaky pipe in my bathroom. That damaged some ceiling and walls in some rooms also. The crew came in and fixed the pipes and replaced all the ceiling and walls. Everything looks amazing and my family and I couldn't be happier."

"Design consultation : John did the design work free of charge and the estimate was free. We obtained quotes from other companies and had to pay for a design workup. John was also so flexible with our change requests. We were given a difficult time with changes we wanted to make with the other companies. Product selection: Whether it was plumbing, fixtures, tile, wood flooring, counters -John has assembled a great team of people to help with selection of these items Construction: John does EXCELLENT work and he has assembled a WHOLE TEAM who do likewise - the painters, electricians, plumbers, tiling, Amish custom built vanities and shelving, general contracting,... Working relationship: He doesn't impose his vision on you. He makes suggestions but it's your project. After we pay off this bathroom we’ll have him do the next one"

FAQs for acoustic ceiling tiles install projects in Chagrin Falls, OH

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.

Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.

Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.

Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
